Weekly Recap # 7: Week of 6/25-7/1

Hey everyone!  It’s time for another weekly recap post of all things happening on and off the blog. This week I’ll be linking to the Sunday Post, which is hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and to Stacking the Shelves, which is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.

Happy 4th of July weekend to all who are celebrating!  I’m actually headed out of town today to attend a 4th of July bash at my aunt and uncle’s house.  It looks like we’re in store for some nice weather so I’m looking forward to spending some quality time outdoors, catching some rays and reading some of the July ARCs that have snuck up on me.  I had to backburner Heather Graham’s Perfect Obsession, which I had been planning to read this weekend, because I received an ARC for Final Girls, which comes out on July 11th so I really need to get that read first.  I started it today and it took me a while to really get into it, but now I’m flying through it and hope to finish it by tonight.  Then I need to read Conversations with Friends and The Library of Fates, which also have upcoming publication dates.

I’ve gotten a little behind on writing reviews, so I’m hoping that having a couple of extra days off this week will allow me to make some progress on that front.  Adjusting my schedule so that I get in my 40 hours at work and can still be off by noon on Fridays is taking some getting used to, and so several of my planned writing sessions this past week turned into impromptu naps instead.

I’m especially excited about the upcoming week because I’ll be posting my very first author interview!  Yay for a blogging milestone!  I’ll be posting that tomorrow, along with a giveaway to celebrate my milestone, so be sure to stop by and check it out. 🙂

Well, that’s pretty much it for me.  Have a great week, everyone!

Thanks! Oh, I’ll look forward to reading your review on Library of Fates then. I haven’t seen many reviews out there for it yet. ADSOM is such an incredible series, each book stronger than the last, and definitely one I’d recommend to anyone. I hope you have a great week as well. 🙂

Thank you! It was a little slow going at first with Final Girls but now I’m breezing right through it so hopefully it will continue that way through to the end. Have a great week!

Oooh I’m so interested in Final Girls! I really hope you enjoy it! I’ve also been pretty intrigued by Library of Fates, but I have no idea what to expect from it. I’m looking forward to seeing your thoughts on A Conjuring of Light and Final Girls. 🙂

I just finished Final Girls and I thought it was fantastic. I’m working on Library of Fates right now and I wasn’t sure what to expect going into it either, but so far I think it’s a beautiful story.

I have heard awesome things about Final Girls. Hope your plan for writing reviews works out. I have one to write and by tomorrow an additional 2. I am hoping Tuesday morning the house will be quiet and I can write them then. Enjoy the week ahead.

I just finished Final Girls today and really enjoyed it. Lots of twists and turns in the plot that kept me on the edge of my seat. Hope you have a productive writing week as well. 🙂

Congrats on the author interview! How fun. And hope you have a great time on your trip! Good luck with the ARC’s too- I think Final Girls sounds like a good thriller.

I’ll also be curious to see what you think of Hello Sunshine. I liked the previous book by the author but the premise of this one didn’t really grab me, so I’m playing wait and see a bit. And Crooked Kingdom of course- if I can ever get the first one I can read those two!

    Happy 4th!!

Thanks! I just finished and wrote my review for Hello Sunshine so I hope to have that up later this week. It was a bit of a mixed bag for me but I did like it overall. Happy 4th of July to you too!

I haven’t gotten too far in yet, but I’m enjoying Library of Fates so far. Oh and I finally stopped flailing about ACOL long enough to write my review today, so I hope to get it posted later this week. Thank you!

Congrats on your first Author Interview! That’s awesome!

I hope you had a great weekend and that you’re enjoying the extra time off. Good luck catching up a bit – I’m perpetually behind these past couple of months so I’m trying to work on catching up and then keeping my nose down until I actually get ahead a little!

Thanks for tagging me in the Sunshine Blogger. I’m working on that one!

You also got Mask of Shadows! That’s awesome! I need to pick that one up soon! Can’t wait for it.

Your totally random is PERFECTION. 🙂

Yeah, I got an email from Netgalley saying the first 500 people to request it could get Mask of Shadows and I was lucky enough to make it in time. That usually never happens so I was pretty excited 🙂
