Weekly Recap #23: Week of 10/15-10/21

It’s time for another weekly recap post of all things happening on and off the blog. This week I’ll be linking to the Sunday Post, which is hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and to Stacking the Shelves, which is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.

Well, all of my work deadlines are behind me so needless to say, this has been a great week!  I’ve had plenty of downtime and have just been enjoying the fall weather, napping a lot, and getting caught up on all of the shows that have been stacking up on my DVR.  I haven’t tried many of the new shows yet but of the ones I have, I really enjoyed the first few episodes of “The Brave” on NBC.

And today’s my birthday. Yay!  I have no idea what I’m doing today yet, but I’m hoping to spend some quality time with my son and my hubby (and hopefully snag a few new books too!).

On the blog, I’ve got a few blog tour posts coming up this week, one for a YA fantasy called Marked Beauty and one for a YA contemporary, Dear Martin.  Both reads were quite good so I look forward to sharing those reviews.  I also have a new giveaway up on the blog to celebrate reaching the 1,000 twitter follower mark.  If you haven’t already, make sure you enter.  The prize is a book of your choice (up to a $20 value) from The Book Depository.

Anyway, I think that’s it for me.  Have a great week, everyone!

Congratulations on your 1000 followers! That’s an awesome milestone to reach, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Hope your day is incredible. I am in refusal mode with new TV, since they keep canceling any shows I grow attached to.

Thank you! And yes, I hear you. I watched a couple of pilots that I think will probably end up cancelled and even though I liked them, my first thought was “Don’t get attached!”

First of all congrats to reaching 1000 on your twitter account and a happy Birthday!!

Well done!! And enjoy your time off!! I’ve seen Dear Martin more and more and after reading The Hate U Give I’m planing on giving Dear Martin a go as well. I also have The Hazel Wood on my kindle, can’t wait to get started with that. I’m also really curious about Renegades. I love the cover and the authors is such a draw, I can’t wait to see if she continues producing HITs.

Thank you! I just got approved for an ARC of The Hazel Wood and can’t wait to start reading it. And yes, I really hope Renegades is another hit for Marissa Meyer. So far, I’ve loved everything of hers that I’ve read.

Thanks! I think I’m going to read Mr. Dickens as one of my HoHoHo Readathon books. I picked up a couple of new holiday themed books for my birthday too so I think I’m all set to do my post later this week 🙂

Yay for deadlines being OVER! That’s awesome.

I’ve been seeing Brave advertised and it’s making me curious! Now I’m going to have to check it out… Although I really don’t have time for a new TV series!

I’ve heard good things about The Hazel Wood! I hope it’s good for you!

Thank you! Dear Martin was excellent. I’d definitely recommend that one if you’re into YA contemporary. I’m really excited about reading The Hazel Wood too. That cover what was drew me in first, but the synopsis just sounds sooo good!

Happy birthday! Hope you had a fantastic day! I’ve been curious about The Brave but haven’t watched it yet. I’ll have to give it a try. I love the bit about Dickens breaking through his writers block! Too funny!
