Weekly Recap # 4: Week of 6/3-6/10
Hey everyone! It’s time for another weekly recap post of all things happening on and off the blog. This week I’ll be linking to the Sunday Post, which is hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and to Stacking the Shelves, which is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
I had a pretty good week in terms of all things blog-related. With the reviews that I’ll be posting this week, I’ll have met the deadlines for all of those June ARCs that snuck up on me while I was so obliviously working on my backlist challenge. Now that those have been met, I have a little breathing room on the ARCs until next month. That means I’ll be focusing on knocking out some of the library books that I’ve been hoarding so this week I plan to read One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid and The Inexplicable Logic of My Life by Benjamin Alire Saenz. If I’m able to squeeze in a third book, I’m thinking I’ll start It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover.
Off the blog, it has been a nice week too. We’ve started special summer flex hours at work. What that means is that I’ll work longer hours Monday through Thursday, but that I’ll be off by noon on Friday instead of 5pm. I’m pretty stoked to have my Friday afternoons free for extra reading time or whatever.
This week has also been another big TV watching week for me because season 5 of Orange is the New Black dropped on Netflix Friday morning. I’m pretty obsessed with that show so as of right now, I’ve already watched 8 of the 13 episodes and really hope to finish it today.
Let’s see…what else? Oh, I’m dying to get to the theater to see the new Wonder Woman movie. From what I’m hearing, it more than lives up to the hype surrounding it. My husband and son blow me off every time I mention it, so my first half-day Friday might be spent heading to the theater to go watch it solo!
And that’s it for me. Have a great week, everyone!
WHAT I POSTED LAST WEEK

- [5 Jun] The Sunshine Sisters by Jane Green ★★★★

- [7 Jun] Waiting on/Can’t Wait Wednesday – Spotlight on Girls Made of Snow and Glass
- [9 Jun] The Weight of Lies by Emily Carpenter ★★★★
I really enjoyed all three books you have coming up. I am so woefully behind on ARCs I may never catch up! I am in the middle of a New Girl binge but then I am all about the new season of OITNB. I hope it is good!! Have a great week!
Yeah, I don’t know that I’ll ever be completely caught up on ARCs, but one of these days I hope to learn not to request so many that have the same publication date. Oh yay, I love New Girl. Such a fun show!
Yeah for meeting those ARC obligations. You’ve got a nice haul. My husbands work closing at 2 on Friday’s during the summer, so it’s nice having a longer weekend Enjoy!
Thanks, I hope to!
I need to see Wonder Woman too, and Guardians of the Galaxy (I’m less excited about that one, WW looks more fun lol). I started Shetland on Netflix but I thought about jumping back into Orange is the New Black- I’ve only seen some of S1.
Yay for summer hours! Can’t wait to see what you think of Sic of Crows. I need to get to that one too…
Oh, I need to see Guardians of the Galaxy too. I may wait for that one to come out on DVD but I haven’t decided yet. Orange is the New Black is pretty addictive, one of the only shows I truly binge as soon as it comes out, although I did fail and only made it through 8 episodes this weekend, haha.
I’m sooooo excited for the new season of OitNB but I’ve been working pretty non-stop since it was released so I haven’t had time to watch any of it! I really want to go see Wonder Woman as well, but I have no one to go with, so I feel your pain. I look forward to seeing your review of Upside! Also, Girls Made of Snow and Glass sounds really intriguing. I hope you like it!

My Sunday Post!!
I failed in my mission to watch the entire season of OITNB, but it’s just as fabulous as always so I hope you get to start watching soon 🙂
Sigh – if only reading WAS exercise. That would be fantastic. 🙂 I hope you can see Wonder Woman soon. I saw it last night and it’s awesome!!!

Right? Would be the first time in my life, I didn’t mind exercise, haha! Glad to hear you enjoyed Wonder Woman. I’m really hoping I can get to see it this week 🙂
I love your Totally Random — and if only! I like the title: The inexplicable Logic of my life — it certainly does fit the lburb that goes with it.
Haha, right? I could totally get into exercise if reading counted!
Literally, I decided to dedicate twenty minutes of blog hopping this evening before getting into Netflix and watching the latest season of OITNB lolol. I love that show. I will be done in just a few days once I start binge watching. If it weren’t for work, I’d be done sooner!
I’m a fan of Colleen Hoover’s, she’s very good. Happy reading and watching!
I just finished OITNB last night. Took me a little longer than it usually does to watch it, but it was still a pretty solid season.
Well done on catching up all your reading! That’s awesome. Also your flex hours sounds great – Friday afternoon’s off is amazing.
I’m still busy watching Heartland and not getting too much done! 🙂
I would love to go and see WonderWoman too! I think I’m going to make a plan for this weekend after seeing so many great reviews. 🙂
Can’t wait to see what you thought of Six of Crows!
Yes, I love having my Friday afternoons free. Last summer I got so much reading done in those few hours before picking my son up from summer camp. Hoping I’ll have the same success this summer. I hope to have my Six of Crows review up next week. I really loved it though!
