Weekly Recap #33: Week of 12/24 – 12/30
It’s time for another weekly recap post of all things happening on and off the blog. This week I’ll be linking to the Sunday Post, which is hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and to Stacking the Shelves, which is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. We had a great Christmas here and since I was off the rest of the week, I’ve spent much of it relaxing, watching cheesy Christmas movies on Hallmark, and just have a good time in general. I made it to the theater to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and Pitch Perfect 3. I thoroughly enjoyed all three films, with Jumani being the biggest surprise. I was leery going in, just because the original had Robin Williams and how do you compete with that, but they did a surprisingly nice job with the movie, especially in terms of updating it with a more modern feel. My son absolutely loved it.
On the blog, you’ll also probably notice that my list of upcoming reviews is pretty much the same as it was for last week. Since blog traffic usually seems to be pretty light during the holidays, I decided to stick with year-end type of posts and save my reviews for after the holidays. I’ll be posting a new one tomorrow to kick off 2018 and will resume my normal blogging schedule this week as well. I have several reviews ready to share as I did get a fair amount of reading done this week too.
As you’ll see from my Stacking The Shelves list, Santa was also pretty good to me this year too. Based on the reviews of my fellow bloggers, I feel like I have a lot of great reads coming up in 2018.
I also took time this week to decide what reading challenges I’m going to take part in and shared those on Friday. I picked a couple more than I usually do, but I’m hoping they’ll all be a good fit for me in terms of what my reading goals are for 2018.
Hope everyone has a Happy New Year and a wonderful first week of 2018!

Happy New Year Suzanne! I’ve had Unsub checked out from the library since like August. I need to read it, Hazel Wood too!
Happy New Year to you too!
We’re hopefully going to see Jumanji this weekend. I’ve been so excited for it since we saw the first trailer! That’s awesome that you got so many books for Christmas! Happy New Year, Suzanne!
Happy New Year to you too, Angela!
You Christmas sounds like a good one. Happy reading and Happy New Year!! 🎊🎉
Thanks, you too!
I’m glad you had a nice Christmas. I didn’t post too much last week either, but I need to get on top of it for this year. I have a basic handle on what I’m posting but nothing scheduled yet. LOL
Ooh I hope you are enjoying Unsub; I loved it and I really can’t wait for the sequel.

I’m starting Unsub tonight and I’m really excited based on all of the great reviews I’ve read.
I would like to see Jumanji – but I’ll have to wait until the grandchildren leave as they’ve already seen it and don’t want to watch it again. I hope you have a happy and healthy 2018, Suzanne:)
Happy New Year to you as well!
I’m surprised to hear all the praise for Jumanji! I wasn’t expecting it to be so well received. I haven’t been to see it yet but I think we’re going sometime in the next week. I need to watch The Greatest Showman as well.
Happy New Year 🙂
It surprised me too!
Happy New Year! 🙂 I can’t wait to watch Pitch Perfect 3. Looking forward to it.
Happy New Year to you as well!
Happy New Year. Sounds like you’re off to a good start…with some good book selections.
Thank you!
Unsub literally gave me nightmates. I cant wait to read the sequel. Great haul!
Thanks!
Glad to hear you relaxed and watched Hallmark movies 🙂 I usually do that every year but for some reason I wasn’t in the mood for Christmas movies this year. We watched The Last Jedi too. I loved it but I still like the previous one better 🙂 Now looking forward to Jumanji! because.. yes! Robin Williams! I see great books here so I’m looking forward to all these reviews especially The Immortalists and Nice Try 🙂
The original trilogy will always have my heart but I have definitely been enjoying all of new Star Wars episodes as well.
I think I am having Hallmark Christmas movie withdrawal. There were so many and I watched every one. Hope you had a wonderful new year and all my best for a fantastic 2018.
I am too! Kind of watching I had recorded a few to watch this month, lol.
