Top Ten Tuesday – 10 Books I’m Planning to Read During Spooky Season This Year
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is supposed to be Characters from Different Books Who Should Team Up (or date, be friends with, etc.) (Submitted by Cathy @ WhatCathyReadNext). I unfortunately blanked out and couldn’t think of anyone so I decided to go rogue this week and share some books I’m planning to read during spooky season this year. I know it’s only August, but these books are already calling to me, thanks in part to a virtual event I attended recently where several of Berkley’s wonderful authors gave presentations to tease their upcoming releases. It was such a fun event and I’m now even more excited than I already was about their new books.
You can click on the links below to read synopsis of each of these books.

Yes, I’m so looking forward to fall! I’m actually going to try to read some seasonal books, too, so this list will give me a great start!
If you read any of them, I hope you enjoy them. 🙂
Awesome list! I just reviewed Vampires of El Norte today, and I have copies of four others on your list I’ll be reading too. I do love spooky season😁
I’m really excited for spooky season this year. I think this is the most books I’ve ever had lined up for it. 🙂
Vampires of El Norte is going to be awesome!
I’m so excited for that one!
It’s never too early to start planning Halloween reading. Hope you love all of these! I’m curious about Vampires of El Norte myself.
I’m especially excited for that one after listening to the author give a talk on it.
I have The Fake Mate. I am excited to read it. Sounds like a fun one
It really does sound like a fun time!
My Roommate is a Vampire is more on the cute than spooky side 😉 Great list Suzanne, have fun!
I’m excited for that one. I listened to a talk the author gave on it and it sounded like so much fun. 🙂
I couldn’t think of how to do this week’s TTT topic either. I love that you went with your spooky reads list! I’ve got My Roomate is a Vampire and The September House on my fall TBR list, too. And I also really want to read the Riley Sager one. 😀
I’m glad I’m not the only one who struggled with this week’s topic. Hopefully we’ll both enjoy those spooky reads. 🙂
I just finished Good Bad Girl and it really has some twists. I liked it. The publishers are trying to get me to read several of the others but I am not much of a horror reader.
Glad to hear you enjoyed Good Bad Girl. I usually love Feeney’s books so I’m excited for that one.
I can’t wait to read Furgeson’s book! I hope it’s as good as her debut.
I hope so too. I really enjoyed The Nanny!
Just the title and the cover of The September House makes me want to look it up and read more about it. I’m definitely intrigued.
That was one of the books that was presented at the virtual event I attended and it sounded like a unique and intriguing read.
I went rogue this week too. I’m excited for My Roommate is a Vampire, Fake Mate and Wooing a Witch! 😍 I hope you enjoy all these books!
Thanks Dini!
It’s never too early to plan your spooky reading! I’m on a very long wait list at the library for THE ONLY ONE LEFT. At this rate, it will be Halloween before I get to read it, LOL. I’m excited for the Feeney book as well. I hadn’t heard of THE SEPTEMBER HOUSE, but that one looks intriguing. Great list.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

The Witch’s Guide was such a fun read!
I hope you enjoy The Only One Left, I loved it. I cannot wait to read Good Bad Girl.
I added The Only One Left to my list after reading your review so I’m really excited for that one. 🙂
Vampire looks so fun, and I LOVED Such Sharp Teeth by Harrison sooo much.
I’m really excited for Harrison’s new book. She gave a talk on it and it sounds like a wild ride. 🙂
I hope you love them all! I’m also planning spooky season already. It’s my favorite time of year. 🙂
I hope you enjoy all of these!
Oh I love that you focused on spooky season reads, because my head is already there too haha 🙂 So excited for My Roommate is a Vampire, A Demon’s Guide to Wooing a Witch and The Fake Mate!
Nice round-up for spooky season! I’ve been looking forward to the latest by Alice Feeney too.
