Top Ten Tuesday – Ten Series I’d Like to Start, Catch up on, and/or Finish

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.  Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!

This week’s TTT topic is Series I’d Like to Start/Catch up on/Finish. I’m notoriously bad about reading series.  No matter how much I want to read one, it takes me forever to start it in the first place and then I almost never read the series straight through. In fact, if I read more than one or two books in the same series a year, it’s a major accomplishment. In recent years, I have been making more of an effort to move through the ones that have been lingering on my shelves so now I’m finally ready to finish up what’s left and start a few new ones.  Here’s my latest list…

Great list! I loved the Getting Lucky series so much 😍 But you’ve reminded me that I still need to finish The Winston Brothers series—it’s been so long since I picked that one up! I had The Daevabad Trilogy on my list today as well and I hope to one day finally start Backman’s books 😂

I’m really excited to finally read Getting Lucky. I’ve enjoyed all of the other books I’ve read from Meghan Quinn. 🙂

I’ve fallen behind with the Outlander series. I think I’ve read through The Fiery Cross. It’s just hard to stay invested when there are literally YEARS between books. Quinn’s Getting Lucky series is so good. I loved those characters. 🙂

I’m also pretty terrible at finishing series so I relate! I haven’t started The Inheritance Games but it sounds really good and I hear good things, so hopefullyyyyy we can both start on it eventually!

I do enjoy series but sometimes I just want a book to be a stand-alone. If I don’t enjoy the first book of the series I am less likely to read others in the same series. I hope you enjoy these when you get a chance to read them.

I have the same problem. The wait between books doesn’t help either sometimes. I liked Polaris rising a lot, but true to form I haven’t read the others.

The Outlander series- those covers just go so well together, don’t they?

In the biggest turn of events today, I actually read four of these series. The Hawthorne Legacy was great the whole way through, and I am so happy we are getting a spinoff. I have one book in the Getting Lucky series to read (book 3). I do hope to get to that by the end of this year

I’m so glad to hear that about the Jennifer Lynn Barnes series. I don’t know why but I’ve been worried it wouldn’t live up to the hype.

I also want to read/start the Daevabad trilogy and the Inheritance Games. Bridgerton I only read the first two books, and I hope to read at least books 3 and 4 before the new season of the TV show comes out 🙂

I have The Winners to read, hopefully next week. I also want to read The Winston Brothers, I have only read the first book so far. Enjoy all these series when you get to them.

I’ve been trying to do better with series, but I have a tough time keeping up (or even starting them LOL). I read the first two Inheritance Games books from your list and hope to read the third soon. I read all of the ACOTAR books for the first time this year. hah
