My selection for this week is THE GIRL THE SEA GAVE BACK by Adrienne Young. The Girl the Sea Gave Back is a companion novel to Young’s Viking novel, Sky in the Deep, and it features one of my favorite characters from that novel, Halvard, 10 years after the events of Sky in the Deep.  I can’t wait to revisit Young’s Viking world and the main character of this new book sounds fantastic.  I’m looking forward to seeing how she and Halvard end up crossing paths and also if we’ll get to see any other characters from Sky in the Deep.

Can’t Wait Wednesday – LOVE FROM A TO Z by S.K. Ali

My selection for this week is LOVE FROM A TO Z by S.K. Ali.  I thought S.K. Ali’s debut Saints and Misfits was such an incredibly moving read.  I loved her writing style and the characters she brought to life, so I am really looking forward to seeing what her new book brings.  The cover is adorable, and just from the synopsis, I’m already rooting for Zayneb and Adam.

My selection for this week is LOCK EVERY DOOR by Riley Sager.  I loved both Final Girls and The Last Time I Lied, so I can’t wait to get my hands on Riley Sager’s next book.  Lock Every Door sounds like it’s going to be filled with suspense and downright eerie with all of those mysterious disappearances.

My selection for this week is THE BOOKISH LIFE OF NINA HILL by Abbi Waxman.  I have to admit that the bright, bookish cover is what made me first notice this book.  Then I realized the book was written by Abbi Waxman and knew it had to go on my TBR.  It just sounds like one of those books that’s going to be so relatable.

My selection for this week is LIFE AND OTHER INCONVENIENCES by Kristan Higgins.  This past year I read my first novel from Higgins and really loved it, so I’m very much looking forward to reading more of her books.  When I read the synopsis for her upcoming release, I was really drawn to the blue blood grandmother- black sheep granddaughter relationship.

My selection for this week is CALL IT WHAT YOU WANT by Brigid Kemmerer.  I fell in love with Kemmerer’s contemporary novels Letters to the Lost and More Than We Can Tell, so I was thrilled to see she has another one coming out this year.  The plot sounds fantastic too – the exploration of the question of whether or not it’s okay to do something wrong for the right reason.

My selection for this week is FINDING DOROTHY by Elizabeth Letts.  I’ve started off 2019 with a couple of outstanding historical fiction reads, which has gotten me in the mood to read more from the same genre.  I came across this one on Netgalley last week and was drawn to it because of its connection to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, one of my childhood favorites.

My selection for this week is WILDER GIRLS by Rory Power.  The blurb on Netgalley describes this book as a feminist Lord of the Flies, which piqued my interest right away. Lord of the Flies was one of the most fascinating and disturbing books I read in high school so any books dubbed as similar are automatically going to be of interest to me.  Also, that cover is pretty fabulous as well. Creepy yet beautiful.

My selection for this week is Rayne & Delilah’s Midnight Matinee by Jeff Zentner.  The cover for this book is initially what caught my eye, but then what really sealed the deal for me was Rainbow Rowell’s comment on the front cover:  “Anyone can break your heart–Jeff Zentner can also make you laugh out loud!” That sounds like my kind of read so sign me up!

My selection for this week is All We Could Have Been by T.E. Carter.  I’m excited for this one because Carter’s last novel I Stop Somewhere was such a powerful and hard-hitting read, and based on this synopsis, I’m expecting a similar experience with the new book.
