Top Ten Tuesday – Books Set in Places I’d Love to Live

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.  Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!

This week’s TTT topic is Places In Books I’d Love to Live.  If I had invested more time and thought into this, I probably could have come up with 10 fictional places I’d love to live, but after a year of sitting in basically the same place thanks to COVID, all I could think about was a change of scenery and places that were loaded with endless entertainment – theater, museums, art, history, etc.  Since that’s what was on mind, I decided to share some books set in actual places, if money was not an obstacle, I’d love to live.  I did throw in one fictional town at the end of my list for good measure though.  I love it because it’s a quaint small town in Georgia filled with wonderful neighbors, cute shops, etc.

These are all places I’d love to visit, but for living, I think I’d choose one of the smaller places like Cape Cod or the fictional Georgia town!

My sister is in Australia so I want to visit one of these days. Hopefully, by the end of this year, I can make it there!

Honestly after this year, I’d like to go anywhere! I’ve actually been to most of the places on your list: NYC, London (I live near there so go there a lot), Greece, Italy, Paris & San Francisco. I’d like to go back to most of those places though as I enjoyed visiting and there’s still more places I’d like to see. I’d also love to go to Canada one day, and definitely want to go to Australia as my sister lives out there.

Normally too many people and too much noise bothers me too, but there’s just something about that New York energy that makes me feel more alive than pretty much anywhere else I’ve ever been. I can’t explain it, lol.

Oh what a wonderful tour around the world! I so need to get away right now:)). And if I could go anywhere, it would be one of the fabulous rooms set into the cliffs at Santorini, a small island in Greece… I would take my Kindle with me, loaded up with a library of books and sit in the sun and read…
