Weekly Recap #110: Week of 6/23 – 6/29
It’s time for another weekly recap post of all things happening on and off the blog. This week I’ll be linking to the Sunday Post, which is hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and to Stacking the Shelves, which is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
I don’t have much of anything exciting to talk about this week. I made it through my first post-vacation week even though it felt like the longest week ever, lol. Hopefully next week will be better because by the end of this week, I was taking accidental naps almost as soon as I got home from work everyday.
Between watching the Women’s World Cup Soccer matches and the Democratic debates this week, I didn’t get nearly as much reading done as I had planned to. I finished two books, The Chosen and The Last Collection, which I’ll be reviewing this week, and I also just finished this week’s reading for the Iron Throne readalong. By this time next week, we’ll actually be finishing the first book so that’s exciting. This week I’m excited about reading The Bookish Life of Nina Hill and Lock Every Door. These are two highly anticipated reads for me, so I have high hopes for them of them.
Life continues to go well with our new puppy. He is settling in very well and is already very attached to my son, which is actually what I was hoping would happen. I just signed Winston up for puppy class, starting in July so that should be fun too.
I’m drawing a blank about the rest of my week, so I’m going to cut it short. Have a great week, everyone!

TOTALLY RANDOM
Hopefully this week will go fast because of the holiday and all! Glad everything is working out well with the new puppy!
Thanks, I hope so too!
Winston is the best name ever for a dog! I love it!
Thanks! 🙂
I remember those fun (and tiring!) puppy days. Such fun! I didn’t know Emma Donoghue had a new book out! I need to check it out😁
I didn’t realize Emma Donoghue had a new one coming out either. I just happened to stumble upon it on Netgalley and was so excited to actually get approved for it.
The few days before vacation and the few days after are always the worst!! I hope you had a nice vacation.
I did have a wonderful vacation, thank you. 🙂
This is so great that the puppy took a liking to your son Suzanne! And I see you added The Poppy War! I loved it 😉
I’m glad to hear you loved The Poppy War. I’ve seen so many great reviews for it.
I am hoping this week is fast and could we make it drama free. My adult children are killing me. Thank you. LOL The puppy…now that will make you smile. Lock Every Door is new to me, so I am curious.
I started Lock Every Door yesterday and I’m already about 3/4 of the way done with it. I love Sager’s books.
I’ve yet to finish a Kelley Armstrong novel. I always hoped I could get into her Otherworld series but it is so daunting with the number of books in the series. I also have Sea of Shadows sitting on my shelf TBR :/
I’ve not tried any of those, but this one is a mystery/thriller and it was actually quite good.
I do read want to read Riley Sager. And the World’s Cup has been a blast!
That Totally Random is funny. 🙂
Right? All of the matches I’ve watched have been so intense!
Glad Winston is settling down so well – my mother has been having problems with her poodle puppy, so I know it doesn’t always go according to plan… I must look out for the Kelley Armstrong and Emma Donoghue books – they are both authors I highly respect. Have a great week, Suzanne:)
Thanks. Yes, we’ve been really lucky with the puppy so far so I’m hoping our good luck will continue. I love Emma Donoghue’s books and look forward to diving in to her latest.
Glad the readalong is going well and that the puppy is settling in 🙂 I hope you anticipated books are fantastic! I love that flow chart lol.
Thanks! I loved that flowchart too. Made me smile. 🙂
Awww, that so sweet that your pup is getting attached to his boy. Good luck with puppy class.
Thank you!
Lol! I love your totally random pic.
Sometimes my days blur into one, Suzanne, because life isn’t always exiting and action-packed either. Lol!
I’m glad to hear the new puppy is working out well and the growing relationship with your son and puppy is good.
Hope you have a great week and enjoy your reads.

Here’s my Sunday Post
Thanks, hope you have a great week too!
I’m glad Winston and your son are getting along 🙂
Have a great reading week
Thanks, you too!
Aw, I’m glad the puppy is settling in well and he’s attaching himself to your son. That’s too cute. I’m so curious about Nina Hill, so I hope that’s a great read!

Thanks, I hope it is too. I have such high hopes for it.
If I would have heard of the Iron Throne readalong just a little bit earlier than I did, I would have participated. I haven’t yet read the books. Maybe one day.
It takes a lot of time to read them but they’re so worth it!
I missed that you got a puppy, but that’s so great! I love the name Winston 🙂 We hope to get a puppy sometime soon as well.
I relate to the accidental naps, haha 😉 Hope this week will go better!
Wilder Girls and The Poppy War are on my TBR too, hope you’ll enjoy them!
Puppies are hard work but so much fun. I hope’re able to get one soon. 🙂
I missed that there was a puppy!! That’s so exciting! ❤ I hope you enjoy The Poppy War, it is very disturbing but amazing.
Thank you! I added The Poppy War to my TBR because of your review so I’m really looking forward to reading it. 🙂
That’s so sweet that your puppy is bonding with your son. I hope you’ve been able to get some better rest this week so far, Suzanne. I can totally relate to that. Happy reading!
Thank you! 🙂
