Top Ten Tuesday – Books by My Favorite Authors I Still Need to Read
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is a freebie so I thought it would be fun to share some books I really need to get my butt in gear and read, specifically Books by My Favorite Authors I Still Need to Read. Sometimes I wish I was the type of reader who, as soon as I find a new author, I immediately devour everything they’ve ever written. Instead, I tend to very slowly (think turtle slow) work my way through their backlist. For that reason, I always have titles lying around that I still haven’t gotten to yet. Here are some that I’m really hoping to finally read this year.
Books by My Favorite Authors I Still Need to Read
1. TRUE COLORS by Kristin Hannah
2. ROOMIES by Christina Lauren
3. EVERYONE IS BEAUTIFUL by Katherine Center
4. THE DOLLHOUSE by Fiona Davis
5. RUNNING WILD by K.A. Tucker
6. THE DIAMOND EYE by Kate Quinn
7. FOREVER, INTERRUPTED by Taylor Jenkins Reid
9. THE NEAR WITCH by V.E. Schwab
10. AURORA BURNING by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
* * * * * *
I am pretty bad with backlists too — looking forward is always easier 🙂 Don’t feel guilty though, you are such a fast reader, I don’t know how you do it!
Mainly because I cancelled my cable so I don’t have TV to entertain me, lol.
I have read The Diamond Eye and Aurora Burning!
Sophie recently posted…I had so much fun reading Twin Crowns by Catherine Doyle and Katherine Webber!
I’m hoping to start The Diamond Eye before the end of this month.
I read the Near Witch, I don’t remember much of it. I haven’t read Taylor Jenkins Reid’s backlist, I don’t hear much about her pre-Evelyn Hugo/ Daisy Jones days. Happy reading! Here’s mine: https://susanlynknits.com/2022/07/19/top-ten-tuesday-favorite-animal-and-robot-companions/
I’ve enjoyed all of the Taylor Jenkins Reid books I’ve read so far. I actually think Forever Interrupted is the last one I need to read.
I hope you love all of these books!

Thank you!
What a great idea for a list! I also need to read The Near Witch and Aurora Burning😁

I actually need to go back and re-read the first book in that Kristoff series. I’ve forgotten everything about it, lol.
Hi there! Yes to True Colors and Diamond Eye, I haven’t read them yet either. Still want to!
Happy TTT!

I’ve seen a lot of great reviews for both of them, so I definitely plan to read them at some point. Hopefully soon but we’ll see…
I’ve read all of TJR’s and Fiona Davis’ books; luckily when I found them their backlists weren’t so big! I definitely haven’t read all the Christina Lauren books and probably wouldn’t at this point, there’s just too many! I’ll just keep up with them going forward!
I think Roomies is the last backlist book I’ll read for CLo. Some of the others I haven’t read yet don’t really appeal to me.
I love the cover for Aurora Burning.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

Me too!
I need to read more from V.E. Schwab and Christina Lauren as well.
Glad I’m not alone in that. 🙂
These look good. When I find an author I like I also want to read all their stuff, but I get distracted by other books!
I want to read Taylor Jenkins Reid , Kate Quinn and Christina Lauren.
Have a great week!

I’m forever distracted by those shiny new releases, lol.
What a good idea for this week’s TTT! I still need to read Running Wild, too. 🙂

I’m really hoping to read that one this summer. I’ve heard mostly good things about it.
Great topic, Suzanne! It always sounds fun to me to totally binge an author’s entire backlist, but in reality I never do that. Maybe one day I’ll do just that. I loved Running Wild. Forever Interrupted ripped my heart out but was very good. And I still need to read Roomies and I Found You.

I think Colleen Hoover is the exception for me. I still have a ways to go but I’ve been reading a book of hers a month which is very unusual for me.
I really enjoyed The Diamond Eye, it was so good! I’ve also not read The Near Witch, it’s one of the few VE Schwab books I have left to read, but I’ve been putting it off because I’ve not liked her earlier YA as much as her adult or more recent YA releases.

I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews for The Near Witch so I’m a little nervous to read it.
You’re going to love Hannah’s, CL’s and Tucker’s books. They are all fabulous.

So glad to hear that! 🙂
The Near Witch is one I tried, my first book by Schwab, and I couldn’t get into it. I think I have several of Christina Lauren’s books to read, but they aren’t always my cup of tea. I like this topic!

I’ve been hesitant to read The Near Witch because I’ve heard several people say they had similar experiences to yours.
I adore Katherine Center and I’ve read all of the books she has had published so far.

I love her books so much. Reading her new one right now. 🙂
Sadly I have not read any of these although 5 are in my favored authors and I own one of these.

Hopefully we’ll both get to them all some day.
I’m behind on Lisa Jewell. I really liked Girls in the Garden and read her next several (including I Found You),l but I think I’ve missed her last few…

I’ve mainly only read her most recent ones so I really need to catch up on her backlist.
I read Everyone is Beautiful not too long ago. It was very good as all Center’s books are. It was the end that got. Right in the feels! I am reading Running Wild next week. My loan finally came through.

I’m reading Center’s new one right now and then I’m hoping to get to Everyone is Beautiful after that. I hope you love Running Wild!
I might have read True Colors, but can’t remember. I used to be the person who discovered a new author and then devoured everything, but now I don’t…it’s more a timing thing and having “deadlines” that prevent it. I hope you enjoy all of these when you get a chance to read them.

Thank you!
While I haven’t read Roomies I’m yet to find a Christian Lauren book I haven’t enjoyed reading! I have only read Forever Interrupted off this list and it’s such an emotional read! I did enjoy it though!
Hope you are having a good week 🙂

Christina Lauren’s books are so much fun. 🙂
Aurora Burning and Running Wild are still on my TBR as well! I’ve read Roomies a few years ago (I think it was my first Christina Lauren) and I remember really enjoying it.
So glad to hear you enjoyed Roomies. I don’t know why I haven’t gotten around to that one yet. I guess because they just write new ones so fast, haha.
This blogpost is filled with many good authors! TJR, Kristin Hannah, VE Schwab and the duo Jay and Amy. All incredible authors!

Great choice of topic! I’m definitely adding this to my list for any freebie coming up 😂 I also still have to read that Schwab book and I have to finish the Aurora Cycle books too! I hope you enjoy all of these though.
