Top Ten Tuesday – My Favorite Authors to Follow on Social Media
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is Authors Who Have a Fun Social Media Presence. Following authors on twitter is the best. I love reading their random musings about writing, politics, or whatever happens to be on their minds at any given moment. I also love to follow them because, at least in the case of my favorites, they also tend to have the best sense of humor. The wit and sarcasm makes my day, and I’m also a sucker for author accounts that post about their pets. Stephen King tweeting about Molly, the thing of evil, for example, always cracks me up. Anyway, below are some of my favorites on twitter. Do we share any faves?

Question: Who are some of your favorite authors to follow on social media?
I love following Jenn Bennett on Twitter too! I mostly follow romance authors on there!
Jenn Bennett is a lot of fun to follow. I love her books too. 🙂
VE Schwab has been on almost everyone’s lists this week!
My TTT .
I love her tweets. She always makes me laugh.
I don’t really do Twitter, but now I’m considering changing that! How fun! I follow a few authors on Instagram. Emily Giffin is always posting her opinions about the British Royal Family!
That sounds pretty funny. I don’t think I follow her but will have to look her up now, lol.
I love Jay Kristoff as well, I think I follow him on Twitter, Insta and Facebook, lol😁
He is so much fun. 🙂
I think King might be the winner of today’s topic. I see him everywhere today. I love his blunt and unfiltered Twitter account.
I love it too. Sometimes it feels like he’s tweeting what I’m thinking, lol.
I love most of the authors you posted about. I have to admit I laughed at the Marie Lu and Victoria Schwab tweets you posted.
They are so much fun to follow. 🙂
V.E. Schwab seems to be on a lot of lists, must have a fun social media presence. 🙂 I’ve been wanting to read something by Jenn Bennett for a while now too…
Yes, V.E. Schwab’s posts are always pretty fun. 🙂
Jenn Bennett is one of the few I follow. She is just all sorts of fabulous. I have seen many of Kristoff’s tweets, and he is hilarious.
Kristoff’s tweets always crack me up. He’s so funny.
These are fun! I’ve cut back my Twitter presence because it is SUCH a timesuck:))
Ha! I totally agree. I don’t tweet much but I definitely spend a lot of time on there reading tweets.
I don’t follow many authors on social media. I can barely keep up with the things my friends and family post! I think it’s great, though, that so many busy authors take the time to engage and entertain their fans on social media. That’s awesome!
Happy TTT!

I think it’s great too. 🙂
Oh, I totally missed out on a great topic this week! I might have to do it after the fact. I also love following Victoria Schwab and C.G. Drews!
It was a pretty fun topic. I found several new accounts to follow as I’ve been blog hopping. 🙂
So many awesome authors on this list and some that I’m surprised I haven’t followed yet! Definitely rectified that now. Hehe I love Kristoff, he’s my number one!, and Schwab and C.G. Drews are great too. I think I also shared that tweet by Drews this week 😂 So relatable!
It really was relatable. I nodded my head the whole time I was reading it, haha.
I LOVE these — I also giggled so hard through it!
They are all such fun accounts, lol.
I love that you actually included a sample tweet. I follow some of these authors too and they are fantastic!! V.E. Schwab, C.G. Drews, and Jay Kristoff in particular are so hilarious. I love the tweet you chose for Jay – that was a favorite of mine.
-Lauren
Jay’s tweet cracked me up, lol.
Kristoff and Han’s are pretty funny!
They really are. 🙂
Love that tweet from C.G. Drews. Because it’s so relatable. And that TikTok from Marie Lu was hilarious. 🙂
I agree about C.G. Drews’ tweet. 100% relatable, lol.
I really need to follow Stephen King. I followed his son Joe Hill and had a lot of interaction with him until we got in a political argument about 8 or so years ago. Great list! You can see my post in the link below!
Stephen King’s tweets are always such gems.
Awesome list!! V.E. Schwab rules! <3
Yes she does! 🙂
I don’t follow too many authors but I especially love following Maggie Stiefvater and VE Schawb. I think they do some good things on writing and also on the book community in general. I love seeing Angie Thomas always preaching truth and I have seen that Marie Lu is quite entertaining and creative with her Twitter as well. While King says some good stuff, I’ve seen him tweeting some questionable things lately that made me lose some respect for him 🙁
V.E. Schwab is definitely one of my favorites. She just seems like such a fun and quirky person.
