Top Ten Tuesday – Books On My TBR I Predict Will Be 5-Star Reads
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is Books On My TBR I Predict Will Be 5-Star Reads. This topic makes me a little nervous since it reminds me how much I’ve hyped these books in my own mind. Some, like The Queen of Nothing and The Toll, are finales for beloved series, while others like The Starless Sea, Chasing Lucky, and Ninth House are new books by favorite authors. Fingers crossed I haven’t set unreasonable expectations for them, but anyway, as of right now, these are books I’m predicting will be 5-star reads for me.

Books On My TBR I Predict Will Be 5-Star Reads
(in no particular order)
THE QUEEN OF NOTHING by Holly Black
THE STARLESS SEA by Erin Morganstern
THE TEN THOUSAND DOORS OF JANUARY by Alix E. Harrow
THE TWO LIVES OF LYDIA BIRD by Josie Silver
A HEART SO FIERCE AND BROKEN by Brigid Kemmerer
THE DARK CORNERS OF THE NIGHT by Meg Gardiner

Here’s hoping they’re all 5-star reads!
Thank you!
Great list! The Ten Thousand Doors of January is wonderful, and I’m hoping to enjoy Ninth House and Shorefall, too. Happy reading!
I haven’t seen a single negative review for The Ten Thousand Doors of January so I’m very excited for that one.
I so badly wanted to love The Starless Sea, but it was just an okay read for me. I hope you love it, though!
I’m sorry to hear it was just okay for you. I’ve seen some mixed reviews for it but I’m still hopeful I’ll love it.
So many great books here! A few of them are on my TBR!
My TTT
Hopefully we’ll both love them!
I have high expectations for The Starless Sea and Ninth House as well. I hope we’re both right!
Me too, Tammy!
Great list, Suzanne! Lydia Bird also made it onto my list today as well 🙂 I’m really hoping AHSFAB will end up being a five star read for me but I was too scared to put it on this list this week incase it turns out to be so far from the truth haha I do hope all of these end up being five stars for you 🙂 happy reading!
Happy reading to you too, Dini!
I think The Dark Corners of the Night will be a high rated one for me too!
I’m so excited for that one!
I still need to read Ninth House, too. Good list.
My TTT .
Thank you! Hopefully it will be a great read for both of us.
The Queen of Nothing, A Starless Sea, and A Heart of Fierce and Broken would be on my list as well.
Hopefully they’ll all be great reads for us both. 🙂
How could I forget The Two Lives of Lydia Bird?! I definitely have high hopes for that one after loving One Day in December so much. And I’ll be excited to see what you think of The Queen of Nothing. I still need to write my review. It wasn’t quite 5 stars for me but I totally enjoyed it.
I just finished One Day in December last weekend and it was just such a great read.
I hope Chasing Lucky is a 5 star read. I want to love that one, too.
I really hope it will be. I usually have great luck with her books.
You have some amazing reads on your TBR pile, Suzanne:). I hope you enjoy them as much as you hope you will…
Thanks, Sarah!
My track record with Jenn Bennett is solid, so I have no doubt about that book, but I am hoping Silver dazzles me again with Lydia Bird, because her last book is a favorite of mine
I just finished One Day in December last weekend and absolutely loved it so I have very high hopes for Silver’s next one.
Many of these look tempting, Suzanne. Starless Sea!! YES. I adored The Night Circus, so I’m really looking forward to that one. I just finished the second UNSUB (my first read of hers) and it was fantastic. Thanks for introducing me to Meg Gardiner (Not literally but you know what I mean 🙂 )
Yay, I’m so glad to hear you’re enjoying the UNSUB series. 🙂
The Ten thousand Doors looks fabulous, and I read a short story by the author and was very impressed. I have high hopes for that one!
I haven’t seen a single negative review for it so my hopes are high as well. Hopefully neither of us ends up disappointed.
I have high hopes for THE STARLESS SEA, too. I hope we both love it!
Happy TTT!

I really hope it’s a great read for us both. 🙂
I have Harrow’s book too so I hope you are right!
I’ve seen so many great reviews for it so hopefully we’ll both love it as well. 🙂
I was a little nervous reading The Toll and The Queen of Nothing. I loved the other books in the series and I mainly just didn’t want the story to end. But I loved them both very much. I hope you enjoy them as well 🙂
I’m so glad to hear you loved them both!
I haven’t read any of these yet, but several are on my tbr. All of them seem to be getting high praise, so I think you will definitely have some five-star reads here. Happy Reading!
Happy reading to you too, Debra!
I hope all of these will become 5-star reads for you! I actually did rate Ninth House and Queen of Nothing 5 stars 🙂 And really excited about A Heart So Fierce and Broken, The Starless Sea and Chasing Lucky.
I’m so happy to hear that about Ninth House and The Starless Sea. 🙂
My current read is A Heart So Fierce And Broken! It’s better paced than the last but I feel like the characters have changed somewhat. I did love Starless Sea and Ten Thousand Doors, rating them both five stars – I hope you like them just as much!
I’m glad to hear Starless Sea and Ten Thousand Doors were winners for you. I hope I’ll have the same experience with them. 🙂
I just got The Toll, so fingers crossed that we love it. I hope these books all turn out to be 5 stars for you!
Thanks AJ! I hope so too. 🙂
The Toll was definitely a five-star read for me, and I predict that A Heart So Fierce will be too!
Yay, I’m glad to hear that you loved The Toll. I can’t wait to see how the series ends.
Queen of Nothing, Ninth House are also 5 stars for me Suzanne! So I hope you’ll love them!
Thanks Sophie! I hope so too. 🙂
Oh, I also predict that The Starless Sea will be five stars for me! I can’t wait to get to that one. You have some others on your list that I’m excited about, too. I hope they all turn out to be fabulous reads for you! 🙂
Thank you!
I think you might be on to something with a heart so fierce and broken. And I have heard a lot of good things about ninth house and the toll as well! I think I am going to give six of crows five stars whenever I finally get around to reading it – hopefully sooner rather than later.
Oh, I really loved Six of Crows. Definitely one of my favorites.
