Top Ten Tuesday – Sea You Later: 10 Books with “Sea” in the Title
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is Water (This can be covers with water on them, books with bodies of water in them, titles with bodies of water in them, etc.). I looked over at my shelves, saw a few books with Sea in the title and decided to go for it and see if I could think of ten titles. Then after I found ten titles, I realized I had already done this topic before and so I started over again to see if I could find ten more I hadn’t already used, haha. Below is what I came up with and you can click on the links below to read the synopsis of each of these books.
10 Books with “Sea” in the Title
THE HOUSE IN THE CERULEAN SEA by TJ Klune
THE MAGIC OF SEA GLASS by Jenny Hale
COTTAGE BY THE SEA by Debbie Macomber
THE STARLESS SEA by Erin Morgenstern
SUNRISE BY THE SEA by Jenny Colgan
TO SLEEP IN A SEA OF STARS by Christopher Paolini
A LONG PETAL OF THE SEA by Isabel Allende
SKIN OF THE SEA by Natasha Bowen
THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA by Ernest Hemingway
* * * * *
Great list! The Starless Sea was one I immediately thought of!
Thanks, same here!
Skin of the Sea sounds good.
It really does!
Lol I have done that before too, almost duplicated an old post! Sea is a very popular word, these are some fun examples😁
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who has done that, haha!
I thought I’d also have this issue with repeat titles on this “water covers” list but I think I chose mostly new titles that I’m 99% sure I haven’t mentioned before. I had Cerulean Sea on my list today too and I really enjoyed Skin of the Sea! Great list 🙂
Thanks Dini! ♥
First, I’m so tired that I read your title as “Sea in the Turtle” instead of “Title”. I was expecting to see sea turtles on the covers. lol. That being said, the covers you chose are so pretty!
Oh man, that would have been so disappointing to not see any turtles, haha.
I love this theme!!!
Thanks! 🙂
These are all great covers, Suzanne. I have read 4 of these and have a couple of the others on my TBR.
Thanks Carla!
I’ve read and loved both The House in the Cerulean Sea (an absolute fave) and The Starless Sea!
Those are two of my faves as well. 🙂
Fun take on the topic! I don’t think I remember Sea Swept by Nora Roberts. I’ll have to check that one out.
I haven’t read that one yet either. I remember seeing it on my sister’s bookshelf because she’s a big Nora fan.
You nailed that challenge Suzanne!
Thanks Sophie!
I love the cover of Sea Swept! And the colors of The Magic of Sea Glass and A Long Petal of the Sea are some of my favorite colors. Great TTT list. 😀
Thanks Lark!
I love covers with the sea on them. Or books with a sea setting, I suppose. That Paolini one is neat.
I still need to read that one but I do love the cover.
Nice twist. Now I am wondering how many books I read with “sea” in the title. I know I had a bunch of “island” books. I almost did that.
I think I could have done “island” too. I have several of those on my shelf.
Oooh! Love the “Sea” theme for this week’s list! Great list!
Thanks!
I’ve done several water-related lists as well. Sometimes it’s hard to come up with something new for a common theme. You did great! I’ve never read any of these, but I love the covers!
Happy TTT!

It really does get challenging coming up with something new.
The cover for Cottage by the Sea is really pretty! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
I agree. I love that one.
