Top Ten Tuesday: Ahoy Mateys! Ten Books with “Sea” in the Title
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is Books with Geographical Terms in the Title (for example: mountain, island, latitude/longitude, ash, bay, beach, border, canyon, cape, city, cliff, coast, country, desert, epicenter, hamlet, highway, jungle, ocean, park, sea, shore, tide, valley, etc. When I started looking on my shelves for books that fit the topic, I noticed that half the titles I found had the word “sea” in them, so I took that as a sign and set out to find five more “sea” titles. Below is what I came up with.

Great list! Of all the geographical terms, I think ‘sea’ and ‘city’ were the most popular on my list of books. I loved Cerulean Sea though I still have a majority of these sitting on my TBR waiting to be read. Can’t wait!

What a fun twist on the topic! I didn’t realize there were two books called Sea of Tranquility! I used the one by Katja Millay (although it has The in the title so not an exact match).

I’m kicking myself for not doing a post today, this would have been an easy one😁 I love that you focused on “sea” titles, there are a lot of them! I’ve only read Sea of Tranquility but it was sooo good.

I haven’t read any of these but Salt To The Sea is definitely on my TBR. I have heard of A Very Large Expanse Of Sea so I may read that one sometime too. Great list!

When I started trying to decide what to do I also came across a lot of “Sea” words, but still tweaked the topic a bit. I was just struggling, LOL.

Sea does seem to be a popular word for book titles. I’ve read and loved The House in the Cerulean Sea, The Starless Sea and The Sea of Monsters, and The Island of Sea Women is on my TBR.
The Island of Sea Women is still on my TBR too. I’ve seen a lot of good reviews for it.

I’m drawn to watery titles as well. I think because water can be evocative of so many different things—tranquility and peace but also danger, mystery, etc. I’ve read and enjoyed both SALT TO THE SEA and ISLAND OF THE SEA WOMEN.

Apparently, I need to read more books with “sea” in the title as it’s the word I’ve seem used most today. I haven’t read a single book with “sea” in the title. LOL.

I am super impressed you found ten books with Sea in the title. I have only read one of those books. Not a lot of Seas on my read-shelf.

I was surprised I had read so many with “sea” in the title. Definitely popular with those fantasy titles.
I’ve read a few of these: Sea Witch, The Sea of Monsters and Salt To The Sea. I enjoyed The Sea of Monsters and Salt To The Sea, but Sea Witch was sadly a bit of a disappointment for me.

Sea Witch was a mixed bag for me too. I liked it but nowhere near as much as I thought I would so I never continued the series.
This is such a fun topic and I love what you decided to do with it! I agree there are a lot of books with “Sea” in the title and tbh sometimes I get them confused haha, but its a fun subject so I’m not mad! Great choices 🙂
