Top Ten Tuesday: New-to-Me Authors I Read for the First Time in 2021
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s TTT topic is Top 10 New-to-Me Authors in 2021. I read a lot of great new authors last year, especially since I’ve continued to explore the romance genre, which is one I hadn’t explored too much prior to the pandemic. Some of these authors have been around for quite a while so I’ll be continuing to make my way through their older books now that I’ve read and loved their newer releases.

Who were some authors that were new to you in 2021? Do we share any?
I have a few of these books on my TBR, and after seeing them on your list, I may need to move them up some.

If you do, I hope you enjoy them!
I keep meaning to read Elizabeth Acevedo’s Poet X and Clap When You Land. For some odd reason, I’ve only read her latest book!
I still need to read Poet X. That one has been sitting on my shelf for a while now.
Awesome list! It makes me so happy to see so many faves on here 😍 I can’t wait to finally read Sara Desai and Tiffany D. Jackson this year!
I hope you enjoy them both!
I was late to the Colleen Hoover party a couple of years ago and you’ll love exploring her backlist. Enjoy💜
Thank you! I can’t wait to read more of her books. 🙂
Great list! I’m looking forward to reading more from Tessa Bailey and Lauren Layne.
Me too! I’ve had so much fun with their books so far.
I cant believe I still haven’t read TJ Klune! Maybe 2022 will be the year😁
You definitely should! 🙂
Great list! I love White and Harper. Klune is an author I meant to read this year and just never did. This year, for sure! I’ve heard nothing but good things about THE HOUSE IN THE CERULEAN SEA.
Happy TTT!

TJ Klune is my favorite new author from 2021. I want to read everything he’s written now. 🙂
I’m so curious about Clap When You Land.
I thought it was a great read. Definitely interested in reading more from Acevedo after that one.
Love seeing Colleen Hoover up there. 🙂 And Karen White is one that I’ve been meaning to try for ages.
I bought 3 more Colleen Hoover books after loving that first one and am very excited to explore her backlist. 🙂
I really enjoy Karen White’s writing. I have only read her Tradd books though and need to venture into her stand alones. Elizabeth Acevedo made my list too, although we read different books. I definitely want to read more of her work. This is a great list! Thank you for sharing!
I want to read more from Acevedo too. I’ve got Poet X on my shelf so that will be the next one I try from her.
Elizabeth Acevedo was on my list this week as well!
I’m really excited to read more of her books this year. 🙂
TJ Klune is on my list too! I absolutely loved The House in the Cerulean Sea. I do have Clap When You Land on my TBR, which I’ve heard great things about.
I really liked Clap When You Land. I bought The Poet X after I read that one so I’m looking forward to reading that one this year.

Some interesting covers here!
Yep! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
It Happened One Summer was a pleasant surprise indeed. Happy reading! My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/2021-reading-year-in-review/
It really was. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series. 🙂
Fun list of books! All ten of these authors are new to me, though I’ve been meaning to try Jane Harper for years now.
I still need to go back and read her earlier books. I have The Dry sitting on my shelf so that will be the next one I tackle.
TJ Klune is a big favorite!
Same here! 🙂
I had no idea you had never been Co-Hoed till recently. Welcome! Layne is an old favorite of mine, but dare I say, I like her newer books even more than the old ones.
Yep, brand new to all things CoHo, lol. I did use one of my Christmas gift cards to pick up three more of her books so looking forward to reading those. I got All Your Perfects, Ugly Love, and It Ends With Us.
I’ve seen quite a bit of love for several of these authors.
The Survivors looks like one I might like.
It was a pretty good one. I want to go back and read some of her older titles now.
I’ve been loving Lauren Layne since 2015! I love her books sooooo much! They deserve a whole lot more praise.
I really need to go back and read some of her older books. I loved these last two so much!
