Can’t Wait Wednesday – ONE ITALIAN SUMMER by Rebecca Serle
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about. It is a meme that I have loved participating in since I first started blogging, but as Jill is no longer actively posting, from now on I’ll be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings, which is a spinoff of the original WoW meme.

My selection for this week is ONE ITALIAN SUMMER by Rebecca Serle. I just love the premise of this one and that Italian setting doesn’t hurt either.
ONE ITALIAN SUMMER by Rebecca Serle
Publication Date: March 1, 2022 by Atria Books
From Goodreads:
When Katy’s mother dies, she is left reeling. Carol wasn’t just Katy’s mom, but her best friend and first phone call. She had all the answers and now, when Katy needs her the most, she is gone. To make matters worse, their planned mother-daughter trip of a lifetime looms: two weeks in Positano, the magical town Carol spent the summer right before she met Katy’s father. Katy has been waiting years for Carol to take her, and now she is faced with embarking on the adventure alone.
But as soon as she steps foot on the Amalfi Coast, Katy begins to feel her mother’s spirit. Buoyed by the stunning waters, beautiful cliffsides, delightful residents, and, of course, delectable food, Katy feels herself coming back to life.
And then Carol appears—in the flesh, healthy, sun-tanned, and thirty years old. Katy doesn’t understand what is happening, or how—all she can focus on is that she has somehow, impossibly, gotten her mother back. Over the course of one Italian summer, Katy gets to know Carol, not as her mother, but as the young woman before her. She is not exactly who Katy imagined she might be, however, and soon Katy must reconcile the mother who knew everything with the young woman who does not yet have a clue.

I’d love to hear what upcoming book releases you’re waiting on this Wednesday? Leave me your link in the comments below and I’ll stop by and check out your CWW selection for this week. 🙂
A once in a lifetime trip with a parent would be such a wonderful trip. I’m not sure where my dad would have wanted to go, as he always seemed content to stay home or at least in the United States. I think my mom would like to take her Alaskan cruise finally. It’s something that she has talked about doing my entire life, and it was a trip she and my dad kept talking about but never did.
My Dad is a stay at home kind of guy too.
I have been having some luck with Serle’s books and am also looking forward to this one. Italy is reason enough too.
Yes, the Italian setting is a huge draw for me.:)
Yep! Adding this one.
LOL! I hope you enjoy it. 🙂
I just got chills reading this description! I need to know more, this sounds really good😁
Right? I felt the same way.
I just added this one to my TBR – the setting sounds amazing!
Doesn’t it? It makes me want to go back to Italy so badly.
This sounds like an interesting women’s fiction novel. Surprisingly, I’ve read very few books with an Italian setting.
I’ve not read too many set there either so the setting is definitely a plus for me since I love Italy.
An Italian setting doesn’t hurt. Sounds good!
Right?
I just saw this one last week and added it! 🙂
Hopefully it will be a great read for us both. 🙂
Happily, I obtained a copy of this one. It was a very good read!
Oh yay, I’m so happy to hear this. 🙂
I loved Rebecca Serle’s In Five Years. This sounds like it would be really good too. I hope you love it when you read it.
Thank you! 🙂
