Top Ten Tuesday – Books Set in Places I’d Love to Live
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is Places In Books I’d Love to Live. If I had invested more time and thought into this, I probably could have come up with 10 fictional places I’d love to live, but after a year of sitting in basically the same place thanks to COVID, all I could think about was a change of scenery and places that were loaded with endless entertainment – theater, museums, art, history, etc. Since that’s what was on mind, I decided to share some books set in actual places, if money was not an obstacle, I’d love to live. I did throw in one fictional town at the end of my list for good measure though. I love it because it’s a quaint small town in Georgia filled with wonderful neighbors, cute shops, etc.

Thanks for this trip around the world in books, Suzanne💜 Made my morning.
You’re welcome 🙂
These are all places I’d love to visit, but for living, I think I’d choose one of the smaller places like Cape Cod or the fictional Georgia town!
Peachtree Bluff is definitely some place I could see myself living.
Paris, Italy, New York, Greece…these are all places I’d love to live.
Same. Now I just need to win the lottery so I can make it happen, lol.
I think out of all the places you’ve listed, I’d pick London as a place to live, although I’m not a big traveler. But I’ve been there before and loved it. I love this post, so many great places!
I loved it there when I visited too. I may not ever live there but I hope to at least visit again some day.
I live in Canada. There are so many cool places here that I hope you’ll get to see one day. 🙂

I’ve been once but only saw Niagra Falls on a field trip when I was in high school. I’d love to visit Vancouver.
“After a year of sitting in basically the same place thanks to COVID, all I could think about was a change of scenery and places that were loaded with endless entertainment – theater, museums, art, history, etc.” YEP! I related to this.
My sister is in Australia so I want to visit one of these days. Hopefully, by the end of this year, I can make it there!
Oh wow, I hope you can get there this year!
Honestly after this year, I’d like to go anywhere! I’ve actually been to most of the places on your list: NYC, London (I live near there so go there a lot), Greece, Italy, Paris & San Francisco. I’d like to go back to most of those places though as I enjoyed visiting and there’s still more places I’d like to see. I’d also love to go to Canada one day, and definitely want to go to Australia as my sister lives out there.
Right? Anywhere sounds perfect right about now, lol.
I am not sure if I would want to live outside the US, but I would love to visit any of these places (except NY, I am originally from Brooklyn). I am still looking for that place, where the temperature stays between 40 – 75 degrees and no snow.
Oh yeah, that does sound perfect.
So many great places I’d love to live (or even visit). I LOVE Italy and would love to visit New York, San Francisco and Canada as well.
I really hope to get back to Italy some day. I visited a few years ago and just fell in love with every city I visited.
I’ve been to NYC once and it drove me absolutely crazy – too many people, too much noise, too much busyness, just too much. I could never live there! Peachtree, Georgia, sounds more my speed 🙂
Happy TTT!

Normally too many people and too much noise bothers me too, but there’s just something about that New York energy that makes me feel more alive than pretty much anywhere else I’ve ever been. I can’t explain it, lol.
Ooh…Paris! I’d live there. Cape Cod/Martha’s Vineyard always appeals to me, too. Great TTT list. 😀
Me too. I get kind of obsessed with that New England coastal setting every time I come across it in a book.
Italy for sure. And Greece. The Amalfi Coast in Italy and Santorini in Greece are two must- visits for me. Australia and PAris as well.
I fell in love with Italy when I visited there and I have a feeling I would feel the same way if I were to go to Greece.
Greece – and Santorini, specifically – has long been on my bucket list. It’s hard to think about that possibility these days but maybe at some point it will feel safe again.
Right? That one is bucket list for me too. Hopefully some day…
Well I’d have to find a book happening in Yellowstone LOL
Don’t think I’ve come across any set there, lol.
Oh what a wonderful tour around the world! I so need to get away right now:)). And if I could go anywhere, it would be one of the fabulous rooms set into the cliffs at Santorini, a small island in Greece… I would take my Kindle with me, loaded up with a library of books and sit in the sun and read…
That sounds positively divine!
Greece would be interesting! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Right? And so beautiful.
