Can’t Wait Wednesday – GOOD GIRLS LIE by J.T. Ellison
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about. It is a meme that I have loved participating in for over a year now, but as Jill is no longer actively posting, from now on I’ll be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings, which is a spinoff of the original WoW meme.

My selection for this week is GOOD GIRLS LIE by J.T. Ellison. I was drawn to this book for several reasons: 1) Because I’m always on the lookout for a good thriller, 2) I’ve been wanting to try a J.T. Ellison book for a while now, 3) this book is set in my home state, and 4) this book is also set in a boarding school and I LOVE books set at boarding schools.
GOOD GIRLS LIE by J.T. Ellison
Publication Date: December 31, 2019
From Goodreads:
Perched atop a hill in the tiny town of Marchburg, Virginia, The Goode School is a prestigious prep school known as a Silent Ivy. The boarding school of choice for daughters of the rich and influential, it accepts only the best and the brightest. Its elite status, long-held traditions and honor code are ideal for preparing exceptional young women for brilliant futures at Ivy League universities and beyond. But a stranger has come to Goode, and this ivy has turned poisonous.
In a world where appearances are everything, as long as students pretend to follow the rules, no one questions the cruelties of the secret societies or the dubious behavior of the privileged young women who expect to get away with murder. But when a popular student is found dead, the truth cannot be ignored. Rumors suggest she was struggling with a secret that drove her to suicide.
But look closely…because there are truths and there are lies, and then there is everything that really happened.
J.T. Ellison’s pulse-pounding new novel examines the tenuous bonds of friendship, the power of lies and the desperate lengths people will go to to protect their secrets.

Oh that title is GOLD. I’m definitely going to be checking this out — this blurb sounds brilliant — and I want to see who/ what these characters are like.

I loved that title too.
This sounds really intense – great pick!
Thanks!
Ooh I love the sound of this. There’s something creepy about prep schools anyway, so it seems like the perfect setting for a mystery😁

Aren’t they fun?
I like the sound of this one! I hope you enjoy it, Suzanne. Closed communities are always very nifty places for trouble to ferment…
I agree! 🙂
You had me at boarding school. But seriously, rich kids and murder is always a good bet.
I agree 100%!
Ooh I love the sound of this! Sounds like another one to add to my TBR. I hope you enjoy it! 🙂
Thank you!
