Can’t Wait Wednesday – GIVE THE DARK MY LOVE by Beth Revis
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about. It is a meme that I have loved participating in for over a year now, but as Jill is no longer actively posting, from now on I’ll just be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa, which is a spinoff of the original WoW meme.

My selection for this week is GIVE THE DARK MY LOVE by Beth Revis. I have yet to read a book by Beth Revis but I’ve wanted to for a while now. I became especially excited about this one when I read that it explores a theme that is always of interest to me: how far will someone go to save or protect their loved ones?
GIVE THE DARK MY LOVE by Beth Revis
Publication Date: September 25, 2018
From Goodreads:
When seventeen-year-old Nedra Brysstain leaves her home in the rural, northern territories of Lunar Island to attend the prestigious Yugen Academy, she has only one goal in mind: learn the trade of medicinal alchemy. A scholarship student matriculating with the children of Lunar Island’s wealthiest and most powerful families, Nedra doesn’t quite fit in with the other kids at Yugen, who all look down on her.
All, except for Greggori “Grey” Astor. Grey is immediately taken by the brilliant and stubborn Nedra, who he notices is especially invested in her studies. And that’s for a good reason: a deadly plague has been sweeping through the North, and it’s making its way toward the cities. With her family’s life–and the lives of all of Lunar Island’s citizens–on the line, Nedra is determined to find a cure for the plague.
Grey and Nedra continue to grow closer, but as the sickness spreads and the body count rises, Nedra becomes desperate to find a cure. Soon, she finds herself diving into alchemy’s most dangerous corners–and when she turns to the most forbidden practice of all, necromancy, even Grey might not be able to pull her from the darkness.

I’d love to hear what upcoming book releases you’re waiting on this Wednesday? Leave me your link in the comments below and I’ll stop by and check out your CWW selection for this week. 🙂
This looks so good, I’m adding it to my Goodreads to read pile asap! I’m most looking forward to the release of Mirage and Muse of Nightmares 😊
I’m excited for both of those as well!
I snagged a copy at ALA Annual and I am excited!
Oh cool! Can’t wait to see what you think of it 🙂
I’m looking forward to this as well! I haven’t read Beth Revis yet either although I have Across the Universe. Great choice!
Thanks!
This books looks and sounds great! I’ve read some reviews on Goodreads and I’m so excited! Great pick!
Thanks!
I have an arc of this and am so excited to get started. Hopefully in September (wow, I can’t believe I just typed September).
Hard to believe we’re almost to September, isn’t it?
Intriguing premise! Though I have to say that the whole Lunar Island thing makes me think of the Lunar Chronicles. LOL
That was the first thing that popped into my head too, lol.
This one sounds interesting for sure. I’ve only read one by Revis – Across the Universe, years ago – and while I didn’t love it I’m not adverse to giving her another try.
I haven’t tried one of her books yet so I’ll be interested to see what I think of her.
I’ve had my eye on this one too! I hope you love it when you get a chance to read it 😀
Thanks! I hope so too 🙂
This looks so good! I have a soft spot for fantasy books featuring healers!
Same here!
This one sounds gripping – I hope you enjoy it:).
Thanks!
I won a copy through Penguin’s First to Read Program. I hope to review it on August 27th on my blog!
I hope you love it!
This sounds a great series and I’m adding to my reading list.
I hope you enjoy it!
That is an epic title, for sure, and backed up by the blurb. Very curious about the worldbuilding in this, especially within the Academy in a fantasy like this.
The worldbuilding has me curious as well.
I AM SOOOO STOKED TO READ THIS ONE!!! I love Beth Revis, and this sounds dark and gothic-y, which I also love. ♥
This will be my first time trying Revis and I’m really excited about it!
I haven’t read anything by Beth Revis either, but this one caught my eye was well. I hope you do get a chance to read it, Suzanne, and end up loving it.
Thanks! I hope the same for you 🙂
