Can’t Wait Wednesday – THE DEFIANT HEIR by Melissa Caruso

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about.  It is a meme that I have  loved participating in for over a year now, but as Jill is no longer actively posting, from now on I’ll just be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa, which is a spinoff of the original WoW meme.

My selection for this week is THE DEFIANT HEIR by Melissa Caruso.  I just finished the first book in this series recently and really loved it, especially main characters Lady Amalia and Zaira, who were just such a badass dynamic duo.  I can’t wait to get my hands on the second book and see what happens Lady Amalia and Zaira next, especially if they’re going behind enemy lines!

THE DEFIANT HEIR by Melissa Caruso

Publication Date:  April 19, 2018

From Goodreads:

Across the border, the Witch Lords of Vaskandar are preparing for war. But before an invasion can begin, they must call a rare gathering of all seventeen lords to decide a course of action. Lady Amalia Cornaro knows that this Conclave might be her only chance to stifle the growing flames of war, and she is ready to make any sacrifice if it means saving Raverra from destruction.

Amalia and Zaira must go behind enemy lines, using every ounce of wit and cunning they have, to sway Vaskandar from war. Or else it will all come down to swords and fire.

Wow, I don’t even think I realized the next one was coming out so soon or that it already had a cover!? Regardless, I’m so excited to see your post because now I can get extra excited! Great pick. 🙂

I saw the word “Witch” in the description and I was automatically in. I love anything having to do with magic. This sounds really good. I haven’t heard of this one or the first book, but I will make a point of looking for them. Thanks for putting this on my radar!

    Here is mine.

It’s a pretty good series and the magic system as presented in the first book is fascinating. If you read it, I hope you enjoy it. 🙂

Right? It’s still too long of a wait since I really want to see more of Amalis and Zaira now, lol, but I was excited to see that the second book is already in the works.
