New WoW“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about.

My “Waiting On” Wednesday selection for this week:

Heartless by Marissa

Publication Date: November 8, 2016

From Amazon:

Long before she was the terror of Wonderland―the infamous Queen of Hearts―she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love.

Long before she was the terror of Wonderland, she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love. Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favorite of the unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend. But according to her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for the young woman who could be the next queen.

Then Cath meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the king and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship. Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.

In her first stand-alone teen novel, the New York Times-bestselling author dazzles us with a prequel to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite childhood stories, so I’m excited for Heartless because I love the idea of getting a possible backstory on the infamous Queen of Hearts.

I’d love to hear what upcoming book releases you’re waiting on this Wednesday. Is anyone else excited for Heartless?

I’m definitely excited for this one. I love Marissa Meyer and although there was just a Queen of Hearts story, I’m sure that this one will be amazing. Definitely waiting right along with you.

I’m just getting ready to start the Lunar Chronicles as well, so Marissa Meyer is a big star on my TBR list. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog 🙂

I loved the Lunar Chronicles and I’m looking forward to this one too but I’m also a little worried that I might not like it since I already know the main character becomes a villain. Hopefully she will be written more sympathetically than Levana was in Fairest. Good pick! Thanks for visiting my blog.

Oh yes! I think everyone under the sun wants this one, lol. I’m looking forward to it as well. Even, if im hearing not so good things. I think it depends on a person and their likes. You know what they say. Not everyone reads the same book. 🙂 xoxo

I agree 100%. There have been tons of times when I have loved books that have had mixed/bad reviews and vice versa. Hopefully this one will be a great read for us both 🙂
