Top Ten Tuesday – Ten Series I’d Like to Start, Catch up on, and/or Finish
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is Series I’d Like to Start/Catch up on/Finish. I’m notoriously bad about reading series. No matter how much I want to read one, it takes me forever to start it in the first place and then I almost never read the series straight through. In fact, if I read more than one or two books in the same series a year, it’s a major accomplishment. In recent years, I have been making more of an effort to move through the ones that have been lingering on my shelves so now I’m finally ready to finish up what’s left and start a few new ones. Here’s my latest list…
Series I’d Like to Start, Catch up on, and/or Finish
1. THE INHERITANCE GAMES – JENNIFER LYNN BARNES
* * * * *
2. THE DAEVABAD TRILOGY
* * * * *
3. BEARTOWN by Fredrik Backman
(I need to read the 2nd and 3rd books.)
* * * * *
4. THE PARADISE TRILOGY by Elin Hilderbrand
* * * * *
5. GETTING LUCKY by Meghan Quinn
* * * * *
6. WINSTON BROTHERS by Penny Reid
* * * * *
7. CENTRAL PARK PACT by Lauren Layne
* * * * *
8. OUTLANDER by Diana Gabaldon
* * * * *
9. BRIDGERTON by Julia Quinn
(I’ve read the first 3 books but need to finish the series)
* * * * *
10. CONSORTIUM REBELLION by Jessie Mihalik
* * * * *
I hope these are all great reads for you!
Thank you!
A couple of these made my list as well – Outlander, Winston Brothers, and Bridgerton! Good luck with these!
Thanks! Good luck to you as well. 🙂
Great list! I loved the Getting Lucky series so much 😍 But you’ve reminded me that I still need to finish The Winston Brothers series—it’s been so long since I picked that one up! I had The Daevabad Trilogy on my list today as well and I hope to one day finally start Backman’s books 😂
I’m really excited to finally read Getting Lucky. I’ve enjoyed all of the other books I’ve read from Meghan Quinn. 🙂
I’ve fallen behind with the Outlander series. I think I’ve read through The Fiery Cross. It’s just hard to stay invested when there are literally YEARS between books. Quinn’s Getting Lucky series is so good. I loved those characters. 🙂
I’m hoping I’ll have better luck with Outlander since I won’t have that long wait for each new book.
I’ve read all the Winston Bros and the Consortium Rebellion. I loved both of them.
I really do want to read both of those. I’ve seen so many good reviews.
I’m also pretty terrible at finishing series so I relate! I haven’t started The Inheritance Games but it sounds really good and I hear good things, so hopefullyyyyy we can both start on it eventually!
I keep hearing good things about that one too!
I have rad and loved the Daevabad series and Beartown!
I can’t wait to continue Beartown. The first book was so good!
I didn’t know Bridgerton was a book series. I thought it was only a TV show. 🙂
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Yep! It’s a long series too. I’ve started it but still have a long way to go.
I do enjoy series but sometimes I just want a book to be a stand-alone. If I don’t enjoy the first book of the series I am less likely to read others in the same series. I hope you enjoy these when you get a chance to read them.
Same here. I have a lot of series where I read the first 1 or 2 books and then lost interest and never finished the rest.
I have the same problem. The wait between books doesn’t help either sometimes. I liked Polaris rising a lot, but true to form I haven’t read the others.
The Outlander series- those covers just go so well together, don’t they?
They really do. I got the box set and fell in love with them as soon as I saw how great they all went together.
I’m really good at starting series, but really bad about actually finishing them. I’m stuck in the middle of a whole bunch of series right now. I seriously need to just read series books until I catch up a little bit. The struggle is real!
Happy TTT!

I’m the same way. So many started and just left hanging, lol.
I’ve read and loved Beartown – actually I’ll read anything by Backman; I think he’s fabulously talented. I like the continuity in the covers of the Winston Brothers series. 🙂
Hope you enjoy the books.

Backman is one of my favorites too. He writes the most amazing characters. 🙂
That’s a great list! I enjoyed the Paradise series, and have been meaning to try Central Park Pact.
I’ve read the first book in the Central Park Pact and thought it was very entertaining.
In the biggest turn of events today, I actually read four of these series. The Hawthorne Legacy was great the whole way through, and I am so happy we are getting a spinoff. I have one book in the Getting Lucky series to read (book 3). I do hope to get to that by the end of this year
I’m so glad to hear that about the Jennifer Lynn Barnes series. I don’t know why but I’ve been worried it wouldn’t live up to the hype.
I also want to read/start the Daevabad trilogy and the Inheritance Games. Bridgerton I only read the first two books, and I hope to read at least books 3 and 4 before the new season of the TV show comes out 🙂
Same here on Bridgerton!
I have The Winners to read, hopefully next week. I also want to read The Winston Brothers, I have only read the first book so far. Enjoy all these series when you get to them.
Thanks, I really hope I will. 🙂
I hope you enjoy all these! I need to finish Beartown too.
I really want to continue Beartown soon. That first book was so good!
I’ve been trying to do better with series, but I have a tough time keeping up (or even starting them LOL). I read the first two Inheritance Games books from your list and hope to read the third soon. I read all of the ACOTAR books for the first time this year. hah

Series are my eternal struggle, lol.
I’m actually caught up with Jessie Mihalik’s series, and I need to start Bridgerton😁
I keep seeing great reviews for Jessie Mihalik’s series so I’m really hoping to get to it sooner rather than later.
I haven’t ready any of these, but Central Park Pact looks like fun from those covers!
I’ve loved Outlander and Bridgterton and the Consortium Rebellion. The Jessie Mihalik books are lots of fun with lots of action.
I just started the first book in the Outlander series and I’m really enjoying it so far.
