Can’t Wait Wednesday – COUNT YOUR LUCKY STARS by Alexandria Bellefleur
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about. It is a meme that I have loved participating in since I first started blogging, but as Jill is no longer actively posting, from now on I’ll be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings, which is a spinoff of the original WoW meme.

My selection for this week is COUNT YOUR LUCKY STARS by Alexandria Bellefleur. Best friends to lovers and a second chance romance? Yes, please! I’ve actually not read the first two books in this series yet but have seen nothing but rave reviews for them. I see a binge-read in my near future. 🙂
COUNT YOUR LUCKY STARS by Alexandria Bellefleur
Publication Date: February 1, 2022 by Avon Books
From Goodreads:
Following Written in the Stars and Hang the Moon, national bestselling author Alexandria Bellefleur pens another steamy queer rom-com about former best friends who might be each other’s second chance at love…
Margot Cooper doesn’t do relationships. She tried and it blew up in her face, so she’ll stick with casual hookups, thank you very much. But now her entire crew has found “the one” and she’s beginning to feel like a fifth wheel. And then fate (the heartless bitch) intervenes. While touring a wedding venue with her engaged friends, Margot comes face-to-face with Olivia Grant—her childhood friend, her first love, her first… well, everything. It’s been ten years, but the moment they lock eyes, Margot’s cold, dead heart thumps in her chest.
Olivia must be hallucinating. In the decade since she last saw Margot, her life hasn’t gone exactly as planned. At almost thirty, she’s been married… and divorced. However, a wedding planner job in Seattle means a fresh start and a chance to follow her dreams. Never in a million years did she expect her important new client’s Best Woman would be the one that got away.
When a series of unfortunate events leaves Olivia without a place to stay, Margot offers up her spare room because she’s a Very Good Person. Obviously. It has nothing to do with the fact that Olivia is as beautiful as ever and the sparks between them still make Margot tingle. As they spend time in close quarters, Margot starts to question her no-strings stance. Olivia is everything she’s ever wanted, but Margot let her in once and it ended in disaster. Will history repeat itself or should she count her lucky stars that she gets a second chance with her first love?

Aww, this second chance sounds so sweet!
It really does. 🙂
Ahh… it sounds like a really lovely second chance romance story, Suzanne. They’re my favourite, these days:).
Mine too! 🙂
Margot gets her HEA. Alright. It was easy to see in the last book that there was some backstory there.
I really need to read this entire series. All of the books sound so sweet.
I saw this cover the other day and it caught my eye. This does sound good! Friends to lovers is such a fun trope😁
It’s one of my favorites. 🙂
Sounds like a fun read. And the cover is absolutely inviting, even without reading the summary. Thank you for sharing & happy reading!
Thanks for stopping by!
This book looks so cute and I can’t wait to read it!!!
Hopefully we’ll both love it. 🙂
I have Hang the Moon on my TBR already so hopefully I’ll love that one and will then have this one to look forward to!

I love second chance romances! Plus that cover is so pretty!
Second chance romances are my favorites. 🙂
Love best friends to lovers books. You may like this one ‘Flat-Out love by Jessica Park. The main character comes to Boston to stay with a family and the love interest is her roomie. Just a lot of feels and college memories and an unexpected twist.
Thanks for the book rec. That does sound like one I would enjoy. 🙂
*facepalm* How did I miss this gem, Suzanne? I’m so sorry I haven’t come by earlier – it’s been a HELL of a past week. (and omg, how cute is this!)
So sorry to hear you had a rough week. Hope you’re doing better this week. 🙂
