Top Ten Tuesday – Books I Meant to Read In 2020 but Didn’t Get To
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is Books I Meant to Read In 2020 but Didn’t Get To. This topic actually made me chuckle when I saw it because I actually have a list of 50-60 books I meant to read last year but couldn’t fit in. The ones I’m sharing today are books that I’m most hoping to get to sometime in the next few months.

Great list! I read The House in the Cerulean Sea a couple of weeks ago and it’s wonderful. I hope you enjoy all of these!
That’s one of the ones I’m most excited to get to from my list. 🙂
I only just got a copy of Toll, so that’s my excuse for not reading it in 2020!
I wish I had that excuse. I had preordered it and still haven’t gotten to it, haha.
Omg, I was just thinking after publishing my post that I should’ve added Wild at Heart to my list because I was so looking forward to reading that last year, too 😂 House of Earth and Blood did make my list today though and I’ve seen it on quite a few others. This also reminds me that I *need* to read Gods of Jade and Shadow and Transcendent Kingdom! I hope you manage to get through these (and more!) this year 😃
Thanks, I hope so too. 🙂
I saw so many raves for many of these. So, they sound like great bets. I am hoping to read the final book in Jonah and Calla’s series. I really enjoyed getting to know those two.
I’m hoping they’ll all be winners for me and that I’ll actually read them this year, lol.
A Promised Land was on my list, too!
My post.
Hopefully we’ll both enjoy it when we finally read it!
Ready Player Two is on my list as well. I struggled with “non review” books last year, and that’s something I want to focus on more in 2021😁
I did better with that than I usually do but I think I just ordered that one too late in the year to have time to read it. Hope to get to it soon.
I liked (but didn’t love) Jade and Shadow plus Cerulean Sea. I hope to read Transcendent Kingdom this year.
Mixed reviews for Jade and Shadow had me pushing that one aside last year. I still want to read it though.
I do want to read Obama’s memoir! I have so many books rolled over from last year. haha
I know, right? I never have enough time to read everything I want to read, lol.
If I kept a list like this, mine would probably be as long as yours. LOL I hope you are able to get to all of those on your top ten list like you want to. Several are ones I would really like to read too. Gods of Jade and Shadow being among them.
Right? There just aren’t enough hours in the day to read everything I want to read.
I read House of Earth and Blood, and it was great. I have House in the Cerulean Sea and Giver of Stars on my the as well.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the Maas book. I’m excited to finally get to it.
Wild at Heart was good. Make sure you read Forever Wild after it because I LOVED that one. I am listening to Klune’s book right now and it is FABULOUS!
I have both of Tucker’s books on my kindle so will definitely make a point to get to both this year. 🙂
My list is too long to outline but I see five of them on yours! Good luck.
Thank you!
Seriously I don’t know how this can be a list of 10. Mine would be thousands or at least 100s if I was trying to be more realistic.
Haha, right?
I had too many books on my TBR list from last year that I didn’t get around to reading to even attempt to narrow them down to only ten for this week’s TTT. But I have hopes I’ll actually manage to read them all this year. 🙂 Good luck with your list!
Thank you!
Moreno- Garcia is an author I keep saying I want to try. I need to. And yes I have SO many I didn’t get to!
Mexican Gothic is the only one of hers I’ve gotten to so far but I definitely want to read more from her, starting with this one.
Gods of Jade and shadow! ahhh, that was on my TBR too, and yup, I didn’t get to it at all 🙁
I’m really hoping to make time for it this year. I even read another newer book from her in 2020 and still skipped this one, lol.
Well, I decided not to read Giver of Stars after I became convinced that she stole chunks of “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek” for her book, but the decision is yours.
I hadn’t heard that but still want to read it and see what I think. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
Dang Suzanne! I loved Jojo, TJ and Sarah J maas’s books LOL
Sounds like I have some good reads coming up then. 🙂
I really enjoyed Wild at Heart and loved revisiting Calla and Jonah. And I never got around to Obama’s book, either, so I definitely want to get to it this year. I want to go the audio route for that one.
I really want to do the audio on the Obama book too. I did that for Michelle Obama’s book and thought it really added so much to hear it in her actual voice.
Oh, The House in the Cerulean Sea was my absolute favorite 2020 read, so I’d definitely recommend starting there 😉 I also really enjoyed House of Earth and Blood. The Neal Shusterman and K.A. Tucker series are both on my TBR still, so I hope to get into them this year.
I really want to get to The House in the Cerulean Sea soon. I think everyone I know who has read it loved it.
I’ve got Obama and Ready Player Two on my list as well, I’m hoping to read them this year!
Hopefully we’ll both enjoy them. 🙂
Gods of Jade and Shadow, A Promised Land and The House on the Cerulean Sea are books I want to get to but didn’t get to last year either! Hopefully this will be the year we can both get to them ^.^
I really hope so. I’ve heard great things about all three of them. 🙂
An interesting collection of books – I hope you’re able to get round to them in the near future. Happy reading!
Thank you!
