Can’t Wait Wednesday – THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF ADDIE LARUE by V.E. Schwab
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about. It is a meme that I have loved participating in for over a year now, but as Jill is no longer actively posting, from now on I’ll be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings, which is a spinoff of the original WoW meme.

My selection for this week is THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF ADDIE LARUE by V.E. Schwab. V.E. Schwab is one of my all-time favorite authors So far I’ve read 8 novels she’s written and they’ve all been 4.5 or 5 star reads so I was absolutely over the moon to learn that she has another book coming out this fall. I especially love that this story has a Faustian twist to it and that there’s a hidden bookstore. It sounds so exciting!
THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF ADDIE LARUE by V.E. Schwab
Publication Date: October 6, 2020
From Goodreads:
A Life No One Will Remember. A Story You Will Never Forget.
France, 1714: in a moment of desperation, a young woman makes a Faustian bargain to live forever and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets.
Thus begins the extraordinary life of Addie LaRue, and a dazzling adventure that will play out across centuries and continents, across history and art, as a young woman learns how far she will go to leave her mark on the world.
But everything changes when, after nearly 300 years, Addie stumbles across a young man in a hidden bookstore and he remembers her name.

I’m so excited about The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. Not only because I wrote my MA thesis on Monsters of Verity, but also everything Schwab writes is amazing!
Happy readings!
That’s so cool that you used Monsters of Verity for your thesis!
I feel like the only person on the planet who hasn’t read and loved every book by this author, but this one actually sounds really appealing to me!
I’ve had such good luck with her books so I have very high hopes for this one.
Oh yeah, big YES to this book! I’m excited she’s writing a new adult book. All my favorites of hers have been adult😁

Same!
I have only read one of Schwab’s books, but I understand the hype. Hope this is amazing for you!
Thanks Sam!
Horrible bargain but I’m already intrigued that someone remembers her name. That brings up a lot of possibilities. And the hidden bookstore aspect is pretty awesome.

Me too. 🙂
What a terrible curse! I seem to recall reading about a protagonist that everyone forgot – The Sudden Appearance of Hope by Claire North… I hope you enjoy this one, Suzanne:)
That book is new to me so I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for suggesting it. 🙂
Confession… I haven’t actually read a single book by V.E. Schwab, but I do need to change that! I’ve been eyeing this book up and it’s already on my TBR, as well as a bunch of other V.E. Schwab books I need to read (ahem, my tbr is out of control).

Thanks, I hope so too. 🙂
I’ve been wanting to try this author’s work for awhile now, and a friend has recently started putting on the peer pressure, so it might actually happen sooner than later. I love the sound of this one! I hope you love it when you read it. Stay safe and well, Suzanne.
I hope you enjoy her books when you finally get to read them. I’ve had such good luck with all of them.
This sounds interesting. It would be awfully lonely to not be remembered by anyone. I’m very curious about the person who remembers her, after the bargain she struck. Great pick!
Thanks!
I’m waiting for this one too! I love VE Schwab, and this book sounds perfectly bizarre. I hope you enjoy it!

Doesn’t it? Definitely one of the reasons I’m very interested in it.
This one sounds so amazing, and I really like the simplistic cover. I love Schwab’s books too and I’m definitely planning to read the ones I haven’t yet read ASAP.

At first I wasn’t crazy about the cover but it’s growing on me. The story itself sounds so good.
Oh wow! I’ve recently started seeing this cover, and honestly, thought it pretty uninspiring. That blurb though is WOW – fantastic pick!

Yeah, I would definitely prefer a different cover but the story itself sounds so good.
I have really fallen behind on my goal of reading more of VE’s books. But I am glad you enjoy them so much and I hope you will be able to like this one!
