Top Ten Tuesday – 10 Reads to Dive into over the Thanksgiving Holiday
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is a Thankful Freebie in honor of this week’s Thanksgiving holiday. I couldn’t really think of anything specifically ‘thankful’ to post about that I haven’t done in previous years so instead, I’m going to share some books I think would make fabulous reads to dive into over the long holiday weekend. Had enough of your family? Don’t want to get caught up in the madness of the Black Friday shopping ritual? I’ve got you covered!
My list is heavy on what I consider to be fun and romantic reads, and I’m very heavy on socially awkward, introverted main characters since I’ll be reveling in my own social awkwardness the entire holiday weekend, haha. But I’ve also included a few more serious reads, including a thriller and some science fiction. And finally, to help get you in the holiday spirit since Christmas is right around the corner, I’ve included a favorite holiday read that has a wonderful focus on sisters and family.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL WHO ARE CELEBRATING THIS WEEK!
Great list! I really want to read Red, White & Royal Blue, and The Bookish Life of Nina Hill is one I’d like to try, too.
Both of those are such fun reads. 🙂
This is a great list! I’d be happy to read (or reread!) any of these books! Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
Yes – I totally agree with the Ruth Ware book more than any of the others I’ve read, because it sweeps you away and closes you off to anything around you because it’s so gripping!
I hope you have a fabulous socially awkward holiday. 🙂
It really does. And once it sucked me in, I could not put it down until I knew how it was going to end.
Great list! The Girl He Used to Know is the only one I’ve managed to read so far. I’m hoping to get my hands on The Bromance Book Club soon!!
Bromance is so much fun!
The Turn of the Key does sound interesting.
My TTT.
It’s so good, especially if you’re into creepy reads.
Happy Thanksgiving, Suzanne! I’m glad I won’t have long to be socially awkward since I’m meeting my family at a restaurant this year, and I’ll only have a few hours where I’ll have to be on point, lol. I love all these recs, there are several I’m excited to read😁
Haha, that sounds like a perfect way to spend the holiday. Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Tammy!
I need to read Red, White, and Royal Blue!!! Everyone is raving about it!!!

It’s such a great book. Definitely lived up to the hype for me.
I want to read Nina Hill, Turn of the Key, and The Bromance Book Club. I have read Red, White, and Royal Blue. Thanks for the rec’s!

You’re welcome!
There are so many up there I want to dive into! Great list, lots of wonderful titles on there.
Thanks!
Red, White, and Royal Blue was one of my favorite books this year! I’m waiting on Bromance Book Club at the library. Very good list!
Bromance is so much fun. I hope you love it!
You have so many great books on this list! I see a few that I have loved and think everyone should read, too.
We have similar tastes in books, apparently! For every book on your list, I’ve either (a) read it and loved it, (b) bought a copy but haven’t read it yet, or (c) have it on my TBR list. I loved THINGS YOU SAVE IN A FIRE, THE TURN OF THE KEY, and NINA HILL. I own but haven’t read RECURSION and EVVIE DRAKE. The others are on my TBR. Crazy! I hope you get time to read some of these over the long weekend and that you find a good hiding place where your family can’t find you 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving!

Lol, yeah sounds like we really do have similar tastes. All of the ones you’ve listed have been favorite reads for me this year. 🙂
YES! So many great reads on here! I was actually just thinking about what I’d want to read over Thanksgiving and my days off, and I was toying with Red White and Royal Blue. Such a cozy read. Great picks! And happy (early) Thanksgiving.
Oh, I love the idea of reflecting social awkwardness in books:)). I’m keen to tuck into Recursion after the whirlwind that was Dark Matter… Happy Thanksgiving, Suzanne.
The first 7 were all big hits for me. I think all were 4.5 stars or higher. Nice picks.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family too, Suzanne! This is such a fun list!
Thank you!
I so loved The Girl he Used to Know!!! Happy Thanksgiving Suzanne 😉
That was such a great book. I really need to try more of that author’s books.
Happy Thanksgiving! I’m definitely going to spend Black Friday reading. That sounds more fun than shopping.
Thanks AJ! I hope you had a wonderful holiday.
Awesome list!! Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks! Hope you had a great holiday too!
I’m jotting all of these down for my next book shop Suzanne, I’ve been desperate to get into more feel great reads, been in a bit of a personal slump lately. I’ve already nabbed a few based on your reviews this year and love your recommendations, you never steer me wrong!
Ugh, slumps are the worst. I hope you have luck with some of these. 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving to you!
The top half of your list are all books I looked at and thought, yep I’d like to read those, but I haven’t read any of them. 🙁
Thank you! I had a lovely holiday. 🙂
Loved Things You Save in a Fire and The Girl He Used to Know! And I have Recursion and The Bromance Book Club on my tbr for next year! Great list!
I hope you enjoy both of those reads when you get to them. 🙂
