Top Ten Tuesday, the Valentine’s Edition: My Top 10 Favorite Couples in Books
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is Favorite Couples in Books. This is of course a perfect topic since Valentine’s Day is this week. I’m not much on the actual holiday myself, but I do like the opportunity to spotlight some of my favorite couples. Their chemistry was just so off the charts that they won me over in spite of my usual aversion to reading anything romantic. Some of them are just really sweet together, while others I find fabulous because of their sassy and witty banter, and a couple of the others are just flat out hot together. One couple, Darcy and Elizabeth, from Pride and Prejudice, is the first couple I ever actively rooted for when I read the book in high school, but the rest are all more recent favorites.

What are some of your favorite couples from books? Do we share any?
Darcy and Elizabeth are definitely a classic couple. Even though JK Rowling says she should have paired Harry and Hermione up in the end, I still saw them as really good friends, and loved that she and Ron had a relationship instead. Overall in any book, I really enjoy the idea of couples having a HEA. Great topic! Hugs…RO
I’m big on the HEA too.
I just read P&P for the first time this year – you think I would remember Darcy and Elizabeth!
I need to re-read that at some point. They’re just so good together.
Feyre and Rhys are awesome. I thought about adding them to my list then decided there were others that just wouldn’t get the same level of love but deserve it just as much, lol.
Ha, true. I’m sure they’re going to be on a lot of people’s lists this week.
These are all new to me couples though several of their books are on my shelf. My favorite two couples are Eve & Roarke from the In Death series and Claire & Jamie from Outlander.
I like Claire and Jamie too.
Aww, Ygritte and Jon Snow! That’s a good one! That was a small bright spot in that series.
Right? I had almost forgotten about them until I heard recently that the actors that play those roles had gotten married.
Gotta love Darcy and Lizzie! I need to do a rewatch of the Kiera Knightley version soon😁
I need to watch that one again too. I haven’t watched or re-read this in ages.
I don’t know any of these couples, except Jane and Darcy, but I’m going to read A Darker Shade of Magic soon, so this will give me something to look forward to.

I hope you enjoy A Darker Shade of Magic. It’s one of my favorites.
Lila and Kell are the best-I love them both so much!
Aren’t they?
So many couple that I love! Feyre + Rhys, Stella + Michael… It was hard to narrow it down but had I had more room I definitely would have added Darcy + Elizabeth and Monty + Percy.
It really was hard to just pick 10 this week!
I didn’t know there were any romances in George R.R. Martin’s books. Interesting! I thought he only wrote about stuff like dragons and wars.
This is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
Jon and Ygritte were a small, romantic bright spot in the series.
Yes to Monty and Percy. They are so cute. And Darcy and Elizabeth do make a great power couple.
They really do!
Yay to Darcy and Elizabeth. I’ve been wanting to read The Kiss Quotient. Great list!
Thanks!
I love seeing Simon & Blue on so many lists! And Monty & Percy are a good choice, I didn’t even think about them when I was making my list!
Me too. I think Simon and Blue are the couple I’ve seen the most so far. 🙂
Stella & Michael FTW! Feyre & Rhysand were too hot to handle, and you know, going to war together is one way to prove your love. Simon & Blue were adorable together, and I loved them even more with the peeks we got in the second book.
Lol, yes. Too hot to handle is the perfect description for those two!
Yes to Ygritte and Jon snow- a big thumbs up for those two. 🙂 And I like Elizabeth/ Darcy too even though I’ve only seen movie versions of the story!
Ygritte and Jon Snow are just the best, aren’t they?
Thomas and Audrey Rose is on my list too. I just so love them so much. I need them in my life. Like for real.
They’re great, aren’t they?
I so agree with Stella and Michael Suzanne!!!
Love them together so much!
Yay!!!! Darcy and Elizabeth made your list <3 They are my favorite! Tho I also love Kell and Lila!
Elizabeth and Darcy are the best. I never get tired of reading their banter.
Vasya and Morozko. 😍😍😍
Love them so much!
Elizabeth and Darcy 4EVA! Naturally, that means I forgot to add them to mine lol
LOL! I almost forgot them too so you’re not alone.
Thomas and Audrey Rose! I think I’d ship Thomas with anyone just for more page time to be honest. They both compliment each other so nicely and neither suffocates the other. The couple I ship the hardest would be Carol and Daryl from The Walking Dead and I’m so tired Suzanne, when are they going to make it happen for me!
Awww, I hope you get your Carol and Daryl pairing soon. My best friend watches that show and she says the same thing about being tired of waiting for it to happen.
