Can’t Wait Wednesday – Spotlight on WARRIOR OF THE WILD by Tricia Levenseller
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about. It is a meme that I have loved participating in for over a year now, but as Jill is no longer actively posting, from now on I’ll just be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa, which is a spinoff of the original WoW meme.

My selection for this week is WARRIOR OF THE WILD by Tricia Levenseller. After reading and loving Adrienne Young’s Sky in the Deep, I’ve been on the hunt for more Viking inspired stories. I was thrilled to come across this one, which just sounds fabulous!
WARRIOR OF THE WILD by Tricia Levenseller
Publication Date: February 26, 2019
From Goodreads:
An eighteen-year-old chieftain’s daughter must find a way to kill her village’s oppressive deity if she ever wants to return home in this Viking-inspired YA standalone fantasy from Tricia Levenseller, author of Daughter of the Pirate King.
How do you kill a god?
As her father’s chosen heir, eighteen-year-old Rasmira has trained her whole life to become a warrior and lead her village. But when her coming-of-age trial is sabotaged and she fails the test, her father banishes her to the monster-filled wilderness with an impossible quest: To win back her honor, she must kill the oppressive god who claims tribute from the villages each year or die trying.

I’d love to hear what upcoming book releases you’re waiting on this Wednesday? Leave me your link in the comments below and I’ll stop by and check out your CWW selection for this week. 🙂
I was a BIG fan of the Pirate King books, and I love the whole girl-chosen-heir-warrior thing too.
I still need to read the pirate books. That first one has been on my TBR forever.
I love Tricia’s writing so I’m excited for this one too!! That cover is intense.
Great pick!
Thanks!
Can I just say how much I love that Rasmira was always going to take over as chief? No romance, just kicking ass and taking back what’s hers.
Right? Love it!
I’m not sure I’ve read anything about vikings! Hope this is a good one when you DO get to read it. 🙂

Thanks, me too!
I just saw this book on twitter this morning (the author was promoting the cover) and I had to add it to my wishlist immanently. Stories with Vikings are becoming my favourites.
Happy readings! 😉

I LOVED Sky in the Deep so I’m on board for this book. Thanks for sharing😊
Sky in the Deep was sooo good!
This sounds very cool! I enjoyed Daughter of the Pirate King (still have to read the sequel), so I’ll have to check this out!
I still need to read both of those. Forever behind, lol.
A female warrior sounds pretty amazing! Great find!
Thanks!
Awesome cover and a viking inspired stand alone? I’m so ready for this one. Thanks for sharing it!
You’re welcome!
Yes- after Sky in the Deep I need this one lol. And that cover! I need all the Viking-esque goodness now!!!
Right? Same here!
This sounds so epic!! I can’t wait for this one. I read this author’s first book and I quite liked it but I’m more excited for this one. Great pick as always 💋 xoxo
I still need to read both of her pirate books. I’ve had the first one on my TBR forever.
Wow! This sounds *totally* unlike anything I typically read, but at the same time I am so intrigued. I’ll be interested to see what you think of this one… next year. 🙂
I know, right? I have to wait forever for this one, lol.
Oooh this sounds amazing! I hadn’t heard of this so I am thrilled to add this to my TBR because I love a good Viking-inspired story. Thanks for sharing this one!
You’re welcome!
ooo I am curious!
I just saw her blog post about this and I am already so excited for it!!
Same, it sounds amazing!
This isn’t a time period I have read many books set in. This does sound good though. I will have to check it out.
If you do, I hope you enjoy it!
YASSS! I have been drooling over this one actually. I’m really excited about it. I hope you are doing well, it’s been a long time since I visited you. Been in a major blog/reading slump but looks like I’m coming to the end of it, finally. Hope you have a great weekend ahead. xoxo
