Can’t Wait Wednesday – ESCAPING FROM HOUDINI by Kerri Maniscalco
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about. It is a meme that I have loved participating in for over a year now, but as Jill is no longer actively posting, from now on I’ll just be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa, which is a spinoff of the original WoW meme.

My selection for this week is Escaping from Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco. When I first started this series, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it or not. But man, I fell for it hard and fast. I adore both Audrey Rose and Thomas and can’t wait to see what they get up to in the third installment of this series. This one sounds especially intense with everyone being trapped on a ship with a killer on the loose.
ESCAPING FROM HOUDINI by Kerri Maniscalco
Publication Date: September 18, 2018
From Goodreads:
In this third installment in the #1 bestselling Stalking Jack the Ripper series, a luxurious ocean liner becomes a floating prison of scandal, madness, and horror when passengers are murdered one by one…with nowhere to run from the killer. .
Audrey Rose Wadsworth and her partner-in-crime-investigation, Thomas Cresswell, are en route to New York to help solve another blood-soaked mystery. Embarking on a week-long voyage across the Atlantic on the opulent RMS Etruria, they’re delighted to discover a traveling troupe of circus performers, fortune tellers, and a certain charismatic young escape artist entertaining the first-class passengers nightly.
But then, privileged young women begin to go missing without explanation, and a series of brutal slayings shocks the entire ship. The strange and disturbing influence of the Moonlight Carnival pervades the decks as the murders grow ever more freakish, with nowhere to escape except the unforgiving sea. It’s up to Audrey Rose and Thomas to piece together the gruesome investigation as even more passengers die before reaching their destination. But with clues to the next victim pointing to someone she loves, can Audrey Rose unravel the mystery before the killer’s horrifying finale?

I keep hearing great things about this series. I need to give it a look. Is this the last book?
It’s a fun series. I think there are supposed to be four books total.
I haven’t read this series yet but I’ve been intrigued by them because they sound really good. Now with the recent cover reveal of Escaping From Houdini I even want to read these books more. I simply adore that cover!!
This is my favorite cover from the series so far. It’s really a fun series too.
I don’t think I’ve really seen this cover yet! I bought myself a copy of the first book over the Holidays and look forward to catching up on the series. 🙂
It’s such a fun series. I hope you enjoy it!
I always like a mystery set on an ocean liner. Not sure why as I get really seasick in real life. LOL
LOL!
I can’t believe I still haven’t started this series! It sounds like so much fun.
It really is a lot of fun 🙂
So I still need to read the first two but at least I own them. I wondered where the series would head next and now I know. Looks like another great addition.
It’s a great series. I hope you enjoy it!
This series sounds really intriguing – I do enjoy a closed circle murder mystery:)
Me too!
That is the best cover yet for this series!
I agree!
Oh my gosh, I’m still waiting on Hunting Prince Dracula from my library (I’ve had it on hold since September and I’m still 3 of 6 copies! 🙁 ) and there’s already a title and cover for the next one!? I really need to get on this series of books because I loved Stalking Jack the Ripper! Great choice!
I’m just starting the second book and so far I love it just as much as Stalking Jack the Ripper. I hope you are able to get a copy soon.
This sounds really good!!! I need to start this series, like now! Great pick!
Thanks! It’s a really fun series.
I love the cover! This sounds really good. I haven’t tried this series yet, but the first book is on my wish list.
I’m working on the second book now and so far love it just as much as I loved the first. It’s just a really fun series in a dark, creepy sort of way.
I love these books SO much, and I’m definitely eagerly awaiting this new one. The premise sounds great and the cover is beautiful – as are all the others.

It’s such a great series. I’ll be sad when it’s over.
Oh I do love the cover! I just got my first couple in the series and can’t wait to dive in and catch up!
It’s my favorite cover so far. Hope you enjoy the first two books in the series 🙂
Yes, yes, yes!!! I love this series and I’m desperate for this one to be out already. I don’t know if I can wait till September lol. Excellent pick!
I know, right? September is so far away, lol.
Stuck on a ship with a murderer and a carnival troupe? Sounds awesome. I love that name too- the Moonlight Carnival. This is one of those premises I wish I would have thought of lol.
I know, right? It sounds wild!
*facepalm* The third one in the Stalking JAck series? THIRD. WHUT. AS you may have guessed, I’m a little bit surprised the third one is already out. Like how do they write so many so fast?
I know, right? I’ve just started the second book. It’s a fun series though, dark and humorous all at the same time.
Totally waiting for this one!!
I can’t wait! And I’m so excited to hear that will actually be 4 books since I thought it was only going to be 3.
This cover is definitely my favorite of the series! I’ve not read the series yet but will definitely binge-read the books when this one is close to publication. I hope you enjoy it!
Have a wonderful weekend, Suzanne. =)
