“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about.  It is a meme that I have  loved participating in for over a year now, but as Jill is no longer actively posting, from now on I’ll just be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa, which is a spinoff of the original WoW meme.

My selection for this week is Artemis by Andy Weir.  I’m excited for this one, not just because I love science fiction, but also because I’m such a huge fan of Weir’s debut novel, The Martian.  I loved the survival story line, the way it was written as a space log, the witty and sarcastic protagonist,  basically I adored everything about that book.  So as soon as I saw he had another book coming out, needless to say, I was excited.  But then when I read it’s a thriller  — and it’s a heist story set on the moon! — oh yeah, count me in!

    “A heist story set on the moon”?! That’s it, I’m 100% sold!! I actually haven’t heard of this author before but now you have me curious about his debut. I’ll have to look into it. Great pick, Suzanne. I hope you love it when you get the chance to read it! 🙂

      The Martian is a great survival story, especially if you enjoy a main character who is both resourceful and sarcastic. I read the whole book in less than a day.

      I hope you enjoy The Martian! It’s such a great survival story, and I loved the main character. He was so resourceful and yet so snarky, lol.

    I’m getting more into science fiction these days. I haven’t read The Martian (although I loved the movie and do have a copy of the book to read). Artemis really appeals to me too. I will definitely be on the lookout for it. Thank you for sharing!

    A heist story set on the moon- that does sound so fun. I didn’t read The Martian but thought the movie was great. I may have to get this one, sounds like a lot of fun!

      Doesn’t it? If it’s anywhere near as good as The Martian, it should be a very entertaining read (and will probably end up made into a movie as well!)

    You had me at Andy Weir. I have not read The Martian yet but if all the things I hear about the book are true then I will love everything from that author!
