✨Review - TURNS OF FATE (Isle of Wyrd #1) ✨

Author - Anne Bishop

Pub Date - 11/11/25

The Isle of Wyrd is a mysterious place that means different things to different people. Some ferry over to the Isle purely for entertainment purposes. They go to see the fortune tellers and hope to catch a glimpse of the Arcana, the paranormal beings who rule the isle. Other ls come hoping to bargain with the Arcana. Some are trying to change their fate, while others are there for darker purposes.

Detective Beth Fahey is sent to Wyrd when a crime is committed on the mainland using a “ghost gun.” This is her first encounter with the Arcana, and because tensions are high between the Arcana and the humans on the mainland, Beth is cautious as she tries to get the information she needs without further straining relations.

As Beth is drawn into more mysteries that have ties to Wyrd, we learn so much more about the mysterious isle and the even more mysterious beings who run it. We also learn quite a bit about Beth’s history, particularly that she may have ties to Wyrd she was unaware of before now.

Everything about this story fully captivated me. The characters are so well drawn and just truly fascinating, the magic system is clear and easy to follow, and I loved the atmospheric quality of Bishop’s writing, especially as she was describing the strange happenings on Wyrd. There are also themes of justice and fate that run through the story, and I found both very compelling.

I did an immersive read and Jesse Vilinsky does an incredible job, not only of giving each character a distinctive voice, but also in terms of really conveying the mysterious qualities of the Arcana and the Isle of Wyrd.

This was this a book I did not want to put down, nor did I want it to end. This was my first time reading this author and I can’t wait to read more from her and can’t wait for book 2!

🐺 Review - THE WOLF KING 🐺

Author - Lauren Palphreyman

Original Pub Date - 9/14/23, Bloom Re-Release Date - 11/25/25

Princess Aurora (Rory) has been longing to escape castle life and her arranged marriage to a less than desirable man. The night before her wedding, she is attending an event where captured werewolves are being forced to fight to the death for sports. Appalled by this, she requests that the life of a young injured wolf be spared. This puts her on the radar of Callum, the alpha wolf who was fighting him, and when the alpha finds a way to escape, he kidnaps Rory and takes her back to where the wolf clans are unite, thinking she is the bargaining chip they need in order to win their ware against the humans. Callum has no idea how life changing this action will end up being for both he and Rory.

I really enjoyed this book! I love a good forced proximity story, and Callum and Rory end up having the most amazing chemistry the more they are in each other’s company. I also loved that even though Callum is an alpha, he’s also much more of a softie than I would have expected him to be. He was my favorite character by far, but Rory is also an interesting mix of strength and innocence, and I do look forward to seeing her character grow more throughout the series.

There are plenty of secrets, twists and turns that kept me entertained, and some unexpected betrayals along the way that had me shook. There were also some characters that intrigued me because I couldn’t tell what they were up to, and there were other characters that I loved to hate, lol.

The ending was also fantastic, just so intense and with a huge cliffhanger. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book to see what happens next!

🎄Review - YOU MAKE IT FEEL LIKE CHRISTMAS 🎄

Author - Sophie Sullivan

Pub Date - 9/23/25

Set in a small town on a Christmas tree farm, You Make It Feel Like Christmas is filled with holiday vibes and Christmas cheer. It follows Maisie, a photographer, and Nick, a pro hockey player, who share a one night stand together that ends awkwardly when Nick bails the morning after. Maisie hopes to never run into Nick again, but when the two of them end up spending the holidays at the same Christmas tree farm, is a second chance in the cards for them?

This was such a sweet story. I loved all of the holiday festivities and getting to hang out with both Maisie’s and Nick’s families as they enjoyed their time on the farm. I also loved watching Nick try to make amends with Maisie and realizing that he wants an actual relationship with her. He had to work hard to win her trust, and I loved the chemistry between the two of them, so I happily found myself cheering him on in his heartfelt endeavor.

The story wasn’t just holiday fun and romance though. There’s some nice emotional depth to it, as both Nick and Maisie have some emotional baggage and challenges that they’re dealing with, in part, thanks to their mothers, and in Nick’s case, also because of his hockey injury and what it means for his career.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🤠 Review - FREEING THE WILD (Silver Pines Ranch #4)🤠

Author - Paisley Hope

Pub Date - 11/11/25

Cassie Spencer is a rising star in the world of country music, but when tragedy strikes at a concert right as her career is really taking off, Cassie seeks solace in Kentucky with an extended visit to her sister, Ivy’s place. It is here that she reunites with Haden Westbrook, the ruggedly handsome cowboy who loves his peaceful life on Silver Pines Ranch tending to his horses. Months ago the two of them had a steamy one night stand, and now seeing Cassie again turns Haden’s quiet, peaceful life upside down.

I adored Cassie and Haden together! At first they seem like total opposites but the more time they spend around one another, it becomes clear that they have more in common than they originally thought and the chemistry between them becomes undeniable. I loved the initial flirty banter between them, but I especially enjoyed watching their relationship grow and change. This is my favorite book in the series so far, in part because the trauma Cassie experienced before coming to Kentucky gives the story so much emotional depth. I love the spice that all of the books in this series have, and there’s plenty of it in this book as well, but that emotional depth and Cassie’s journey of healing just made this book really resonate with me. I also loved how patient Haden was with her as she works her way through everything she is struggling with. As their relationship blossoms, Haden comes to represent safety for Cassie just as much, if not more, than the ranch itself does, and I just loved that dynamic between them. It made it so easy to root for them to find their happily ever after.

Lastly, I also enjoyed the found family vibes. The other characters in this series are so great, so it’s just always such a treat come back to the world of Silver Pines Ranch and see them all interact.

If you’re into cowboys, spicy slow burns, and opposites attract, I’d say to definitely check this one out!

🎄Review - GRACE & HENRY’S HOLIDAY MOVIE MARATHON 🎄

Author - Matthew Norman

Pub Date - 10/14/25

One of my favorite themes to read about is when someone navigates their way through grief and find their way to a second chance at love and Grace & Henry’s Holiday Movie Marathon explores that theme in the most beautiful and heartwarming way.

Grace and Henry both suffered the loss of their spouses and now their mothers, who know each other, have decided to try to play matchmaker. Grace and Henry figure out what their moms are up to, but neither are ready to date at this point. They do, however, acknowledge that no one understands better the grief journey they are on than each other, so the sweetest of friendships is born. An ad for a holiday movie marathon catches their attention and they decide to watch it and hang out together, along with Grace’s kids and their dog named Harry Styles. Grace and Henry discover that they really enjoy spending time together and what starts as a way to process grief opens the door to looking at a future beyond that grief.

I truly adored everything about this story. The romance is a slow burn because both Grace and Henry have so much that they’re both working through, but the journey to get there is so worth it. The characters are so well drawn that I felt like I knew them personally and the story itself is filled with iconic movie references, scene stealing pets and children, major found family vibes, holiday cheer, humor, and so much more.

I’m honestly not a big re-reader but this book captured my heart so fully that I’ve read it twice already, once with my eyes and then I just had to get the audiobook and listen again. Alex Finke and Jay Myers narrate and they are both just perfect when it comes to capturing that delicate balance between the emotional grief journey and the heartwarming holiday fun.

🎄Review - YOURS FOR THE SEASON 🎄

Author - Emily Stone

Pub Date - 10/7/25

It’s not the Christmas season without a heartwarming holiday read from Emily Stone!

Melanie was publicly dumped by her long-time boyfriend, Finn, six months ago and is still struggling to move on. Needless to say, she is shocked to one day find Finn at her door, begging her be his fake date when he goes to Scotland to spend Christmas with his family. Melanie is basically burned out when it comes to her life and job anyway, she reluctantly agrees to go with Finn. On one condition - that she be allowed to publicly dump him at the end of the trip.

This story was not quite as emotionally heavy as some of Stone’s books (usually I have a box of tissues handy for the inevitable tears), but it’s still a tender, heartfelt second chance romance. I enjoyed Melanie and Finn together, could see that the old sparks between them were definitely still there, so I very much enjoyed them engaging in all sorts of fun Christmas activities with his family in the snowy Scottish Highlands. I was annoyed with Finn for a while because of how he broke Melanie’s heart, but we do get a dual timeline with the past timeline coming to us from Finn’s perspective. It sheds some light on why he did what he did, and while I did not agree with what he did and how he went about it, I appreciated getting inside of his head and seeing how much he truly did love Melanie. It made me so much more open to the idea of him of him deserving a second chance with Melanie.

I read this one with my eyes and ears, and flew through it in just a couple of sittings. Rebecca Norfolk narrates the audiobook and she perfectly captures both the emotional angst and the sense of fun that permeates the story. It was a lovely listen.

🔪🪴 Review - VIOLET THISTLEWAITE IS NOT A VILLAIN ANYMORE 🪴🔪

Author - Emily Krempholtz

Pub Date - 11/18/25

If you’re in your cozy fantasy or small town romance era, this is the book for you!

Violet Thistlewaite is a plant witch who was raised by the evil Guy Shadowfade to be a villain. Once Shadowfade died, however, Violet decides she wants to be good. She relocates to the charming little town of Dragon’s Rest and rents space from Nathaniel, a handsome but grumpy apothecary. In this space, Violet opens up a flower shop and starts her new life. Her new life is not without its challenges though, including learning how to interact with the townspeople, how to deal with her landlord, and what to do when a blight threatens the town and her fledgling business.

I adored this book! It’s equal parts whimsical cozy fantasy and small town romance, and if you know me, you know that’s right up my alley. Nathaniel and Violet have major grumpy-sunshine vibes and so much chemistry! I loved watching them move from their awkward first encounters, to engaging in fun banter, and finally, to truly bonding as they team up to fight the blight that is threatening Dragon’s Rest.

There’s a wonderful redemption arc for Violet as she seeks to prove she is no longer a villain, which just added so much depth to her character, and I also loved the found family vibes between Violet and the townspeople as she really embraces fitting into her new life.

As if all of that isn’t enough, there is also a cast of quirky side characters, including a rock goblin named Peri and a stabby sentient potted plant named Bartleby, who added a perfect amount of whimsy to the story.

An absolutely charming debut!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

❓QOTD - Random but since Violet is a plant witch, what’s your favorite plant or flower?

✨Review - SECRET NIGHTS AND NORTHERN LIGHTS✨

Author - Megan Oliver

Pub Date - 11/18/25

Happy Release Day to @meganoliverbooks and congratulations on your beautiful debut novel!

Iceland has been on my travel bucket list for years so I couldn’t resist this book, which is centered around a second chance romance between a travel journalist and a photographer and their make-or-break work trip to Iceland.

Mona and Ben were childhood best friends-turned-first loves, but they haven’t spoken since Ben ghosted Mona fourteen year ago and broke her heart. Mona has been stuck writing fluff pieces for the travel magazine where she works for years now, so when she is offered a rare opportunity, an international assignment to Iceland, she jumps at the chance and is determined to prove her worth, even if it means working with Ben, a talented freelance photographer her boss is trying to recruit.

Oh my goodness, Mona and Ben’s backstory and their sweet interactions on this trip just had my whole heart! Mona has so much hurt and resentment toward Ben for the way he just left her without a word, and I just adored how patient Ben was with her while he slowly worked to bring down the walls she has put up to protect her heart from getting hurt again. When it came out why he did what he did, my heart just broke for him and had me rooting for these two even more than I already was.

In addition to crafting these characters who stole my heart, the author so beautifully vividly describes Iceland and the Northern Lights that it felt like I was really there with Mona and Ben. It was magical and gave me a major case of wanderlust!

You all know me and my love of immerse reads and I couldn’t resist the audiobook when I saw Brittany Pressley was the narrator. She perfectly captures the charm and the emotion of this romantic story, as well as the magic of the Icelandic setting. I devoured the book and audio in a couple of sittings!

This installment in the Legends & Lattes cozy fantasy series follows Fern. A drunken night sends Fern on an unplanned adventure with a legendary elf warrior and her prisoner, a chaos-goblin. I love a journey of self-discovery so I was fully invested and loved the found family bond that formed between these three characters. The author narrates the audiobook and he’s a great storyteller, really bringing all of his characters to life so vividly and emphasizing all of those cozy vibes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It takes a few chapters to really get into this story, but once I got my footing, I was hooked. This was narrated by Narrated by Dylan Reilly Fitzpatrick & Leela Bassuk, who do a great job bringing Young’s atmospheric writing to life. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
