Top Ten Tuesday – 10 Book Covers That Feature Typography I Like
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is Typographic Book Covers (Book covers with a design that is all or mostly all words. You can also choose to do books with nice typography if that’s easier!). I’m not even going to lie; this topic really threw me for a loop even with the definition of a typographic book cover supplied for us. For the longest time I couldn’t think of a single title that fit the description and even now I’m not convinced that most of these do but we’re just going to pretend I did a great job with this topic, okay? Haha!

The Ruth Ware cover is so simple, but so effective. Here’s my TTT: https://bonniereadsandwrites.com/2022/09/27/top-ten-tuesday-typographic-book-covers-toptentuesday-thepowerofwords/
I agree!
Ninth House has a great font!
I think so too. 🙂
You did wonderfully! (VE Schwab’s book cover definitely stood out to me — pretty pretty typography!)
Thanks! 🙂
Great list and picks of cool typographic covers. So many interesting books on your list. I couldn’t agree more with your picks, especially since we have a lot of them in common this week.
Have a great week 😊
I just saw your post and yep, we definitely share quite a few. 🙂
I think these all fit the topic so well! Even if I didn’t totally enjoy the book, I’ve always loved that Addie LaRue cover.
I love that one too.
November 9 has such great typography on the cover. Love that one. The big, bold number 9, the way you can see the cityscape within it… love it.
That’s my favorite one from this selection. I loved the cityscape peeking through the 9.
These are great! This is pretty much what I did on my post, showing covers that are mostly words or where the words stand out over the illustrations. The It Girl is a perfect example😁
Thanks! 🙂
I’ve read Caraval and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. But what jumps out is just how crucial the right typography is… and these are awesome examples:). Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome! 🙂
Seems we both like the same style. My list contains Caraval, The Invisible Life Of Addie LaRue, and Ninth House, too. The rest sounds new to me and I fear my wishlist just grew *smile* Happy reading.
We do seem to like similar typography. 🙂
I have read Ninth House, Caraval etc! Great choices!
Thank you!
Survive the Night made my list too! (Though I still need to read it) Also love the covers for Addie Larue and Ninth House so much. And I love the colors for With You All The Way.
Addie LaRue is one of my favorite typographical covers.
I think you did a great job. I own and need to read The It Girl, November 9, and Addie LaRue. I have read all the Good Girl’s Guide books.
The Good Girls Guide books all have such great typography. Love the series too.
All of these fit the bill! Nice choices.
Thanks! 🙂
I’ve read Addie Larue, The It Girl and Ninth House.
Such good reads!
I love the cover of Addie LaRue and I think its a great pick for this weeks topic! Nice choices!!
That’s definitely one of my favorite typographical covers. It’s so distinctive.
You found some great book covers for this week’s TTT!
Thanks!
Now that I am looking at it, November 9 is a great cover. The calendar pages are subtle, but I like that they are there
I really like that one too, especially the way the city scene is peeking through the 9.
Great list! I really like the cover for Caraval!
That’s definitely one of my favorites.
Same. Nothing was coming to my mind for this topic, so I did something else. You did a great job! These are definitely eye-catching covers. I’ve read three of them.
Happy TTT!

Thank you!
These are all great examples of books where the typography steals the show! I haven’t seen NOVEMBER 9 on any other lists–it’s perfect!
Thank you! 🙂
Ooh I just bought ninth House. I might start it tonight. 🙂 Love the covers of Good Girl and Survive the Night also.
I hope it’s a great read for you!
I’ve read both Addie LaRue and Caraval and really enjoyed both, I also had Caraval on my list this week, but the UK version of the cover. I’ve started Good Girl Bad, Blood but haven’t finished it yet, and I had A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder on my list this week.
I love the UK Caraval cover!
Those are excellent choices. Haven’t read any of them, though.
Thanks!
