Can’t Wait Wednesday – BOOK LOVERS by Emily Henry
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about. It is a meme that I have loved participating in since I first started blogging, but as Jill is no longer actively posting, from now on I’ll be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings, which is a spinoff of the original WoW meme.

My selection for this week is BOOK LOVERS by Emily Henry. Beach Read and People We Meet on Vacation are two of my favorite books so Emily Henry is an auto-buy author for me. Even if she wasn’t though, that synopsis just screams “You need to read this book!” A cutthroat literary agent and a brooding editor? And a story that features sisters spending time together? Yes, please!
BOOK LOVERS by Emily Henry
Publication Date: May 3, 2022 by Berkley Books
From Goodreads:
A by the book literary agent must decide if happily ever after is worth changing her whole life for in this insightful, delightful new novel from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Beach Read and People We Meet on Vacation.
Nora Stephens’ life is books—she’s read them all—and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. In fact, the only people Nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister Libby.
Which is why she agrees to go to Sunshine Falls, North Carolina for the month of August when Libby begs her for a sisters’ trip away—with visions of a small town transformation for Nora, who she’s convinced needs to become the heroine in her own story. But instead of picnics in meadows, or run-ins with a handsome country doctor or bulging-forearmed bartender, Nora keeps bumping into Charlie Lastra, a bookish brooding editor from back in the city. It would be a meet-cute if not for the fact that they’ve met many times and it’s never been cute.
If Nora knows she’s not an ideal heroine, Charlie knows he’s nobody’s hero, but as they are thrown together again and again—in a series of coincidences no editor worth their salt would allow—what they discover might just unravel the carefully crafted stories they’ve written about themselves.

I’d love to hear what upcoming book releases you’re waiting on this Wednesday? Leave me your link in the comments below and I’ll stop by and check out your CWW selection for this week. 🙂
I love bookish characters! I’m really looking forward to this one, too!
Me too. They’re always so relatable. 🙂
I have been a fan of Henry’s since the release of The Love That Split the World and will read all her books
I still need to go back and read that one.
I love stories where the two main characters keep getting thrown together, so much fun. Love the sound of this!
I do too, like it’s kismet. 🙂
I stumbled across this last week or otherwise I’d be adding it today!
Hopefully we’ll both love this one. 🙂
I just recently heard about this one thanks to a Goodreads giveaway and it sounds so good! I keep meaning to read something by Emily Henry as I’ve heard nothing but good things. I really need to give her a try!
I highly recommend both Beach Read and People We Meet on Vacation. Both of those were 5 star reads for me. 🙂
This sounds really cute! I hope you enjoy reading it, Suzanne!
My WoW
Thank you! 🙂
I definitely want this one!
Same! I’ve loved everything I’ve read from her so far so I have very high hopes for this one. 🙂
I’m really excited for this one, too! 😀
Hopefully we’ll both love it. 🙂
I have not read her yet but I love the cover of this book and title! It’s a bookish book, what’s not to love!
Exactly, lol. 🙂
Sounds like a fun read. Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
That sounds fun and cute cover. I like that she meets someone from back in the city rather than a local.
I love that too. 🙂
I can’t wait for that one too!!!! I loved her other two recent books so much!
Me too. Both of those were favorite reads from the past two years. 🙂
Oh I loved her other books too so I’m sure I would love this one as well! Can’t wait to read it! 🙂
Hope that you are having a great weekend 🙂 I had a long but fun day at the shops yesterday, finishing my Christmas shopping.
Oh goodness, I’m jealous because I haven’t even started my shopping yet, lol.
I added to my TBR right away. I was like “What, a romance novel with a couple reading books on the cover” You know i’m in. Thanks and hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
Right? I love a good bookish romance. 🙂
I would love to go away on a getaway! It sounds like an interesting story.
I would love it too. I haven’t traveled since pre-pandemic and I miss it so much.
I’m so excited for this one too!
It seems like one all of us book lovers should really relate to. 🙂
This genuinely sounds like so much fun — and I love that as much as Nora wants to be a conventional heroine of her story, she’s a more perfect unconventional heroine <3
I love that too. 🙂
