Top Ten Tuesday – Cozy Mystery Titles That Made Me Chuckle
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is Funny Book Titles. This was surprisingly challenging, I guess because we all don’t think the same things are funny. That said, I always love a good pun or a clever play on words when it comes to well known titles like Game of Thrones or The Fault in Our Stars so I decided to share some cozy mystery titles that I thought were pretty amusing.

I think cozy mysteries do the best job of creating fun puns for titles! It Cannoli Be Murder is hilarious!
Right? That one cracked me up (and made me crave cannolis!)
I love this list! I love a good punny title! You started off with a strong one with ‘Nacho Average Murder’! I couldn’t help giggling!
That one cracked me up too, lol.
I think you picked the perfect genre for “punny” titles! Its almost not a real cozy mystery without one😁
I agree! 🙂
When I was making my list for this week, the first books that popped into my head were cozy mysteries. They have some fun and punny titles. It Canoli Be Murder is fabulous!
I saw you had a lot of puns on your list this week too. 🙂
Ginger Snapped is such a great title!

I loved that one. 🙂
Omg, these were so funny!!!
Glad you enjoyed them. 🙂
These are great! I often see these quirky titles listed on the tv guide. Ha. You know they are all adapted from these cute, cozy mysteries. Nice share, Suzanne. Hope you’re doing well. I’ve been off the grid this month 😛
I’m doing well, thank you. I hope you are too. 🙂
I love the puns! I think Nacho Average Murder is my favourite.
That one was my favorite too. 🙂
OMG, It Cannoli Be Murder 😀
I’ve never read a cozy mystery, but they always sound like such a good time so I should really get to it this year 🙂
I’ve not read many but the ones I have read are usually pretty amusing.
Some of these are groan-worthy but I can’t help but laugh. 🙂
Exactly, haha!
Cozy mystery authors do come up with some great titles! I think Nacho Average Murder has to be my favorite. 😀
That one cracked me up when I first saw it, lol.
I do love a good pun and cozy mysteries have some of the best. I really need to start reading more of them.
Me too. I don’t read them often even though I always enjoy them when I do.
LOL! I love the food based titles of these books! Great list!
Thanks!
I love cozy titles! The Malt in our Stars and A Game of Cones haha!
Death Gone A-Rye is fun. and wow I haven’t read an Ellery Adams in a while- I was reading a lot of her cozies a few years ago…
A Game of Cones totally cracked me up. Never would have expected a Game of Thrones pun as a cozy title.
I love (LOVE!) Nacho Average Murder! It reminds me of one of the three jokes I ever could tell to others. Unfortunately, all I remember is the punchline: Nacho Cheese. Said like, Nacho Cheese!
LOL!
I think cozy mysteries are indeed the genre who has the funniests book titles!
I think so too. 🙂
‘It Cannoli be Murder’ omgggggg cozy mysteries have the best, puntastic titles! Great list, Suzanne!
That one cracked me up, haha!
Love that ‘Cannoli’ title. what a great idea to gather books! I’ve been to little italy for a canoli and will never forget it.
That was one of my favorite titles too. I also love a good cannoli. 🙂
