Top Ten Tuesday – Super Long Book Titles That Are Sure to Grab Your Attention
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is Super Long Book Titles. I remember doing a Top Ten Tuesday a few months ago where we shared some of our favorite one-word titles, so I think it’s fun to revisit book titles again this week but this time sharing the opposite — some of our favorite super long titles. Now I’m sure there are many titles out there that are much longer than the ones I’ve selected, but these are some of my favorites and mainly so just because I find them so intriguing. Most of them are quite quirky, which immediately makes me wonder what the book is about and why such a long title was chosen.

QUESTION: WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE SUPER LONG BOOK TITLES? HAVE YOU READ ANY OF THESE?
I am really hoping to get to the Southern Book Club’s Guide this month. It sounds so good.
The Guernsey title is so long, I forget some of the words sometimes, and I own a copy of it! Love the Southern Book Club title, too.
My friend who loves scary books just read Southern Book Club and she said it was very, very scary.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in Night-Time was such a good read.
My post.
Ha ha these are a lot of fun. My favorite is the 100 Year Old Man…
All of these titles are so much fun! I love that they are oddly specific but don’t tell me much about what the book is about.
I love that you included Alexander, and Backman is an author that immediately popped into my head when I saw this topic
I remember enjoying the movie Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day! But wow, what a mouthful!
Great list! I really need to read more from Grady Hendrix.
I’ve always thought Aristotle and Dante sounded like a neat title- I haven’t read it yet though.
I’ve seen Aristotle & Dante on a couple lists today but since I used only books that I’ve read I had to skip that one. Actually, I haven’t read any of the books you shared today!
THE SOUTHERN BOOK CLUB’S GUIDE is on a lot of lists today – including mine. It’s a fun book!
Happy TTT!

I do love long and quirky book titles! This is such a fun collection of them. I really want to read The Southern Book Club’s Guide To Slaying Vampires!
Great list – I have a few of those on my list too since I was looking for titles without the long subtitles. This has been a fun theme to explore though not as many are ending up on my TBR as usual…..

I went rogue today as the only long title I could think of was The Guernsey …. 🙂 You did amazingly good Suzanne!
Busting out the Twain classic, nice. I think its cool title was half the reason I (voluntarily) read it back in high school.
Although I haven’t read anything of hers as yet, I’ll add Becky Chambers to the list as well. Gosh, they’re a mouthful. You could walk into a bookstore and still be asking for one of her books by title three days later. I absolutely loved Aristotle and Dante, such a lovely and deeply moving read.
I’m seeing Jonas Jonasson on a lot of lists today, I guess it’s too be expected considering his long titles.
Here’s my TTT if you want to have a look https://readwithstefani.com/books-with-milelong-titles-on-my-tbr/ Happy reading!
My Grandmother Asked me to tell you and also ari and dante are some of the ones I have read and loved from your list! I have read the curious incident recently but unfortunately it wasn’t one for me D: I am a softie for long titles!
I agree that these are some fun and quirky titles—you can get a lot into a long title!
I agree! The quirky ones are my favorites. 🙂
