Top Ten Tuesday – Most Anticipated Book Releases for the First Half of 2019
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is Most Anticipated Book Releases for the First Half of 2019. This was a hard topic, but only in the sense that it’s impossible to narrow down to just ten books that I’m super excited to read between now and June. I was able to narrow down to 13 and that’s the best I could do. I have a couple of sequels, The Wicked King and Children of Virtue and Vengeance, that I’m very excited about, as well as new books from several of my authors like Leigh Bardugo and Brigid Kemmerer. I also included a couple of debuts that I think are going to be amazing, We Hunt the Flame and Descendant of the Crane. As you can also see, my reading tastes are eclectic as always, with my most anticipated reads being a mix of fantasy, historical fiction, thrillers, and even a romance.
Happy Reading everyone! I can’t wait to read all of your most anticipated lists!

You are so going to have a busy, fabulous time getting through ALL these for the next couple of months!
Right? So much for my backlist, lol.
Big yes to The Wicked King, The Bride Test and Daisy Jones. There a couple there that are new to me. I need to check then out!
I really can’t wait for Daisy Jones. Need to get through a few more Jan/Feb ARCs so that I can dive in.
This list is full of amazing books! I’m so excited for Descendant of the Crane <3 The Huntress does look interesting too :O
I have very high hopes for Descendant of the Crane!
On the Come Up is on my 2019 TBR, too!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I’m so excited for that one. The synopsis sounds so good!
I have a few of these already in the queue to read. I didn’t know about the new Helen Hoang book!
I’m so excited for that one!
I agree with Verushka! Wow, you have some fabulous titles on your list. Honestly, I want to read most of them myself.
This is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
I’m very hopeful that they’re all going to be great reads. 🙂
I love the variety in your list! I definitely have a few of these on my TBR, too!
Thanks!
A couple new ones for me. I am currently listening to wicked king and read a curse so dark and lonely. Wicked king just started. A curse so dark and lonely I am loving.
I’m so glad to hear you are loving A Curse So Dark and Lonely. The synopsis for it sounded so good.
I’m really curious about Daisy Jones & the Six, not my usual genre but it sounds so good! Awesome list😊
Thanks!
Daisy Jones and the Six pretty much tops my list. So excited for that one. The Wicked King is up there, too. I plan on starting it next week and my fingers are crossed that it lives up to the hype!
I’m really excited for Daisy Jones too. It sounds so good!
Your list has so many great titles. I can’t wait to get my hands on Spectacle. It reminds me of Stalking Jack the Ripper (minus the supernatural visions) and that’s one of my favourite series.
Happy readings! 😉
That’s a great description of Spectacle!
Nice mix of books! I really want to read Spectacle, Daisy Jones, and The Huntress too (though I have an ARC of the latter so yay!)
-lauren
Yay for the ARC of The Huntress. I hope you love it!
The Wicked King is on my list too! I am so excited to read it, but I am re-reading The Cruel Prince right now before I start The Wicked King.
The Wicked King is definitely one of the ones I’m most excited for. Can’t wait to revisit that world!
King of Scars, Children of Virtue and Vengeance & Descendant of The Crane were on my list this week too!
I hope they’re all great reads for both of us!
So many good releases! I truly cannot keep up, haha. We Hunt the Flame, The Wicker King, Spectacle, Descendant of the Crane are all ones I’m particularly excited for. Really great list!
I know, right? I think 2019 is shaping up to be filled with amazing reads!
Hahaha Suzanne I get why you told me that your list would nearly be my twin!
LOL! Hopefully all of these reads will be great ones for both of us. 🙂
The Wicked King I want even though I haven’t read The cruel Prince yet lol. I just have a feeling I’m going to like that series. And new Taylor Jenkins Reid always gets my attention! 🙂
It’s probably a good idea to have both books. The end of the first one has had me anxiously awaiting The Wicked King for months now, lol.
Man, there are some books with pretty covers coming out this year! I’m also looking forward to a couple of these, although I still need to read The Cruel Prince and also some Leigh Bardugo books lol.
The covers really are beautiful, aren’t they?
I so need The Bride Test. TKQ was so, so good, and I just want to get back in that world, catch up with Stella and Micael, and get Khai’s story.
Right? I can’t wait!
I’m so excited for Spectacle. It looks awesome.
Doesn’t it? The cover was what first made me check this book out, but the synopsis sounds fantastic.
So many amazing books Suzanne! I think I have most of these on my 2019 TBR as well. Despite all the mess between Tomi and Nora, I’m so excited for Children of Virtue and Vengeance. I absolutely loved Children of Blood and Bone! One of the stand out books of 2018 for me. I think On The Come Up is a given, if you read young adult and it’s not on your TBR, you probably need to reassess your life choices frankly. I can’t wait for all the 2019 releases, gimme all the books! ♡♡
Lol, I completely agree with you about On the Come Up!
I see so many here I want to read, Suzanne. I have a couple on my shelf but not enough! Daisy Jones is one I am ecstatic about, as is The Lost Girls of Paris. I hope you get to read most of these and love them too.
I’m so looking forward to starting The Lost Girls of Paris next week!
Oh yes I could just copy your post in mine! I’m excited for all these books too! I’m reading my first Hoang book next week!
Oh yay, I hope you love it!
These posts are SO dangerous because not only do I see a ton of books that I already knew I wanted to read, inevitably there are some that I didn’t know about that get tacked on to my TBR. 🙂 Spectacle wasn’t on my radar, but it is now!
Oh I know, right? I don’t even want to think about how many more books this week’s posts added to my TBR, haha!
Oh my goodness – what a promising list and best of luck with trying to get your TBR pile any smaller:)). Happy reading!
Thanks! I think I need all of the luck I can get in that department, lol.
So many great books coming out in 2019! I’m really looking forward to The Wicked King, We Hunt The Flame and The Bride Test too 🙂
Hopefully those will be amazing reads for both of us!
There are sooo many potentially amazing books coming out in the first half of this year. 😀
I agree. My TBR has grown a lot this week after seeing everyone else’s book lists.
Yay! A few of these picks are on my list too! CHILDREN OF VIRTUE & VENGEANCE is going to be so epic!
Here’s my TTT from last week 🙂
I think so too. Can’t wait to dive into it!
