Weekly Recap # 1: Week of 5/14-5/20

Hey everyone!  This will be my first time doing a weekly recap post of all things happening on and off the blog. I’ll be linking to the Sunday Post, which is hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and to Stacking the Shelves, which is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.

First, let me apologize for my lapse in responding to comments on my blog and on blog hopping this past week.  My son’s soccer team, which my husband coaches, has been preparing for their playoffs all week and had their first playoff game yesterday (we won, yay!), but it has made for a busy week of hauling my son back and forth to practices, etc.  Aside from some pre-scheduled posts, I wasn’t very active at all in the blogosphere.  Weather permitting, the championship game is Tuesday night, so after that I should be much more active around here.  Thanks so much for your patience while I fulfill my soccer mom duties. 🙂

As far as blog life goes, up until this month I had been making great progress on my Beat the Backlist challenge, having read 14 backlisted books so far this year.  Sounds great, but I did get so caught up on that, that I’m now playing catch up on ARC reviews because some publication dates have crept up on me that I had let slip through the cracks.  It’s all about that balance that I’m still trying to perfect, haha! Anyway, so I’ll be churning out quite a few ARC reviews during the next few weeks to meet those deadlines.

Thank you! Yeah, A Tragic Kind of Wonderful has been on my TBR for a while. I went to the library to pick up a book I had on reserve, saw that someone had just turned this one back in, so I grabbed it up. You have a great week too!

It’s ok. Life happens and we need to prioritize family. Glad to hear that you had a great week. Sounds so fun. I love watching soccer, so I know the joy of it. Watching our kid playing must have been awesome. I hope you enjoy your books and have a wonderful week, Suzanne. 😁

Yes, I’m the same way. I really do love watching him play. He’s talking about wanting to give it up after this season and I’m really hoping he changes his mind. Thanks, Happy Reading to you as well! 🙂

Thanks! I just finished No Turning Back and ended up really liking it. Lots of twists and turns that literally kept me guessing up until the very end as to who the murderer was.

Lmaoooooooo, the passive aggressive Raven is hilarious! The Party is one I’ve had my eye on — I hope it’s good!

I just finished The Party a little while ago. Strange read for me because I actually hated literally ALL of the characters but still ended up really enjoying the book.

Thanks! The Upside of Unrequited is the one from that list that I’m most looking forward to. I love Becky Albertalli’s books so much.

I feel you on the spring sports. Our son played Rugby and all of my kids played baseball/softball which my hubby coached, so it was a tad crazy. Enjoy it, we miss those crazy times now. Delighted to have you linking up with us!

I hear you. My son is talking about quitting soccer after this season, and as crazy as it has been, I really hope he doesn’t give it up because I do love watching him play. Thanks, hope you have a great week!

Welcome to the Sunday post!!!!!!!!! Yay!

I’m still doing some huge amounts of catchup on my blog so I’m scampering around trying to catch up on all the wonderful posts that I missed as well as commenting back on blogs AND trying to catch up my content creation. Phew!

I am still not entirely sure how to juggle ARC vs backlist… It’s always nosing one in front of the other and then scrambling to catch up the neglected pile. I’m sure it has a little something to do with the ‘request’ button too… But we’ll ignore that part for now, shall we?

Okay, the passive aggressive raven was a little hilarious!!!

Let me be off to try catch up on more of your blog posts! There’s a few reviews I’m dying to check out!
