Can’t Wait Wednesday – PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT by Sarah Adams
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about. It is a meme that I have loved participating in since I first started blogging, but as Jill is no longer actively posting, from now on I’ll be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings, which is a spinoff of the original WoW meme.

My selection for this week is PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT by Sarah Adams. I loved this author’s last book, When in Rome, and when I saw her follow-up is set in the same world and that it features fake dating, it immediately became a must-read for me.
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT by Sarah Adams
Publication Date: May 2, 2023 by Dell
From Goodreads:
When the owner of the local flower shop in Rome, Kentucky, makes a questionable agreement with a tattooed bad boy, a delightful friends to lovers romance begins to bloom–from the author of When in Rome and The Cheat Sheet.
Annie Walker is on a quest to find her perfect match-someone who nicely compliments her happy, quiet life running her flower shop in Rome, Kentucky. Unfortunately, she worries her goal might be too far out of reach when she overhears her date saying she is “sounbelievably boring.” Is it too late to become flirtatious and fun like the leading ladies in her favorite romance movies? Maybe she only needs a little practice…and Annie has the perfect person in mind to become her tutor: Will Griffin.
Will–the flirtatious, tattooed, and absolutely gorgeous bodyguard–is temporarily back in Rome, providing security for Amelia Rose as excitement grows for her upcoming marriage to Noah Walker. He has one personal objective during his time in town: stay away from Annie Walker. But no sooner than he gets settled, Will soon finds himself not only breaking his rule, but tasked with far more than simply providing security.
Will wants no part in changing the sweet and lovely Annie, but he can’t bring himself to say no to her request, so he officially agrees to teach her how to be the next leading lady of Rome, Kentucky, and find the love of her life-even if he doesn’t believe in love himself. Between faking a relationship so the meddling town doesn’t catch on to what’s really happening on their practice dates, and tutoring lessons that convince Annie to add passion to her list of must-haves in a mate, it doesn’t take long for the lines of their friendship to blur…

I’d love to hear what upcoming book releases you’re waiting on this Wednesday? Leave me your link in the comments below and I’ll stop by and check out your CWW selection for this week. 🙂
I hadn’t heard about this one but it definitely sounds like my kind of read. Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome!
I do like the sound of this one, Suzanne. It sounds fun.
I think so too. 🙂
I am pretty excited that Adams is bringing us back to Rome. I felt all Noah’s sisters needed their own books. I adored them
Oh yes, I would love that!
This sounds so cute, and something about the illustrated tattoos on Will’s arm is so funny, lol. 😁
I agree, haha.
Fake dating is such a fun trope!
It really is. 🙂
This looks like such a cute read! Hope you enjoy it 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
Fake relationship is a favorite.
For me as well. 🙂
This looks adorable!!
I think so too. 🙂
I’ve loved the last three Sarah Adams’ books that I’ve read; she’s very much a favorite author of mine now. So I am very excited to know that she has another book coming out soon! 😀
I’ve only read one from her so far but want to read them all at some point.
Sounds like the perfect read for a sunny afternoon. Thank you for sharing. Happy reading.
Happy reading to you as well. 🙂
Not my genre, so I don’t have feedback about the book or author, but clearly I’m in the minority 🙂 Hope you enjoy the book.

Thanks, Terrie. 🙂
This sounds so sweet! I love the setting and already want to know more about Annie and Will. I hope you enjoy it when you read it, Suzanne. As an aside, every time I see that phrase, “practice makes perfect”, I am taken back to my elementary school days when I had a teacher who drilled that phrase into us. I probably overuse it to this day as a result. Thank you for sharing!
Haha, not that you say that, I remember that phrase very well from elementary school. 🙂
I think I should move When In Rome up in my TBR, because this new one seems like a good one 🙂.
I really enjoyed When in Rome. It was a lot of fun. 🙂
I’m glad to see that Adams is returning to Rome and we’re getting Noah’s sister’s story.
Me too. I’m with Sam on hoping all of the sisters get their own books. 🙂
Sounds so cute and funny, love the idea of a flower shop
This sounds so incredibly cute — and I love, love Annie and her wanting a quiet life ❤️
Oooh I love the sound of that one!
I haven’t read this author before, but this sounds fun so I’ll need to check it out 🙂
If you do, I hope you enjoy it. 🙂
I can’t wait for this one! It can’t get here soon enough. I was bummed because I only have a Wish for It on NG for it. 🙁
