Top Ten Tuesday: One-Word Reviews for the Last 10 Books I Read But Didn’t Review on the Blog
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!
This week’s TTT topic is actually supposed to be Hilarious Book Titles, but I wasn’t feeling that one so I decided to revisit a topic from a few months ago that I really enjoyed – One-Word Reviews for the Last Ten Books I Read But Didn’t Review on the Blog. I’ve been really knocking out books from my own shelves this year, but I haven’t been spending much time reviewing them on this site. I like how this topic allows me to at least briefly share what else I’ve been reading lately.
One-Word Reviews for the Last Ten Books I Read But Didn’t Review on My Blog
1. BOOKED ON A FEELING by Jayci Lee – PREDICTABLE
2. AN OFFER FROM A GENTLEMAN by Julia Quinn – ANGSTY
3. THE DIAMOND EYE by Kate Quinn – DEADLY
4. EVERY SUMMER AFTER by Carley Fortune – NOSTALGIC
5. THE MISSED CONNECTION by Denise Williams – FUN
6. SOMETHING WILDER by Christina Lauren – UNEXPECTED
7. THE STEMINIST NOVELLAS by Ali Hazelwood – ADORABLE
8. UGLY LOVE by Colleen Hoover – HEARTWRENCHING
9. AFTER I DO by Taylor Jenkins Reid – RESONATES
10. THE HIDDEN ONE BY LINDA CASTILLO – TWISTY
* * * * * *
Ok, I cannot go past a title like The Steminist Novellas (Under one Roof) and a descriptor like Adorable! And that cute cover!!!
Those novellas are such fun reads, especially if you enjoy STEM heroines.
I love these one-word reviews! I enjoyed doing this TTT prompt too 🙂 I really enjoyed The Missed Connection and I can’t wait to read quite a few of the others you mentioned here. Great list!

Thanks!
There’s something about writing a review of a book, even if it is simply a one-word review, that gives a read a sense of completion.
I haven’t read any of these, so, sadly, I can’t comment. But your one-word reviews are all positive, I think, and would encourage a reader to read any or all of them.

Yes, it was so satisfying to do this post for that very reason.
Ugly Love was my first CoHo book, and I agree, absolutely heart wrenching

It was so good. My heart still breaks for Miles every time I think about that book.
I love this topic, and great job reading so many of your own books😁 I have never heard of After I Do!

Yeah, I’m really trying to put a dent in the unread books on my shelves. I seem to be buying them as fast as I read them though, haha.
I have a couple of these on my TBR, but the one that sticks out to me is one I’ve already read, After I Do – “resonates” is such a great word to describe that book!
That was such a great read, one I think a lot of married couples probably relate to.
Sometimes I’m surprised at how hard it is to try and encapsulate a book in just one word. Heartwrenching certainly describes Ugly Love!

Right? Poor Miles.
I’ve read The Diamond Eye, and yes, deadly is a great word to describe it.

Such a fantastic read!
Good job on this post. One-word reviews aren’t easy to do!

They are fun but definitely challenging!
I didn’t know Bridgerton was a book!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

Oh yes, there are at least 9 books in the series. Fun, addictive, steamy reads. 🙂
I really like one word reviews. I’ve seen some other bloggers do them too and it’s kinda neat. Distilling your thoughts/ feelings on a book down to one word… anyways The Diamond Eye looks really good (and your one word doesn’t hurt!), and yay Taylor Jenkins Reid! Need to read more of her as well…

I like them too. It’s a fun way to challenge myself.
I wasn’t feeling the hilarious book title prompt this week either. I love the one-word descriptions you chose for these books! I thought Something Wilder was a fun book, and I have The Hidden One on my TBR list.

I hope you enjoy The Hidden One. When I originally requested it, I didn’t realize it was the 14th book in a series but thankfully it worked great as a standalone.
I enjoyed the Christina Lauren and Ali Hazelwood and Denise Williams.

Those were all such fun reads. 🙂
Glad to see you rate the Ali Hazelwood series as adorable, I want to start reading them!
Happy TTT!

Thanks, hope you have a great week too!
I have read four of these and agree with you word choices, Suzanne. I like the idea of 1, 2, or 3 word reviews. It gives a good idea of the story.

I think so too. 🙂
I need to remember to do this when I am behind on reviews (or simply don’t feel like writing one, LOL!). Great topic for today!

Right? It’s a great way to quickly knock out a bunch of reviews. 🙂
Same! My life has been a little crazy over the last few months, so I’ve barely reviewed anything at all on the blog. I have been reading, though. I need to do what you did here and crank out some mini reviews. It’s fun to read one-word reviews.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

It’s definitely a great way to quickly knock out a bunch of them. 🙂
I should probably do this to deal with my current review backlog!

That’s exactly why I did it. I’ve read so much but have just been too busy to write full fledged reviews for all of them.
I love one word reviews like this, I think you did great with them! I still have to read that Taylor Jenkins Reid book, slowly making my way through her backlog!

Thanks! I hope you enjoy the TJR book when you get to it. 🙂
Ooh I love this one-word review! Every Summer After does sound nostalgic! Ugly Love is definitely heart-wrenching. Still not over it and I read it in 2015.

Right? Ugly Love killed me!
I love the words you chose. I agree with your choice especially for Every Summer After. I loved that book.

They’re fun to come up with . 🙂
I’m currently reading Every Summer After and nostalgic definitely fits so well! And ooh, unexpected for Something Wilder? Now I’m even more intrigued to dive into that one!
It’s a fun one but definitely a little different from what I’m used to with CLo.
I have not read any of these, but I’m so intrigued by a lot of these words you chose!
