Top Ten Tuesday – 10 Books That Make Me Want to Take a Road Trip

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.  Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!

This week’s TTT topic is supposed to be Books Set In a Place I’d Love to Visit (real places or fictional).  I couldn’t think of any place that I haven’t shared books for already, so I decided to tweak the topic a bit.  I’m still focused on traveling, but this time it’s books that feature road trips – fun road trips, romantic road trips, angsty road trips, and even a dangerous road trip. There’s a little bit of everything here.

10 Books That Make Me Want to Take a Road Trip

4.  PLACES WE’VE NEVER BEEN by Kasie West

6. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD GET EASIER by Abbi Waxman

7.  I WANNA BE WHERE YOU ARE by Kristina Forest

Places We’ve Never Been definitely made me want to go on a road trip, too! The Road Trip not so much, since so many things went wrong for them lol. I love a road trip book though! Great twist on this topic.

I’m taking one to see my mom this weekend, but I’m really hoping for a bigger adventure at some point in the near future. I’ve been so stir crazy after not traveling at all for so long because of COVID.

The road trip part of The Road Trip was so funny! I remember telling my husband about it, and how if it could go wrong on a road trip, it did! It reminded us of a road trip we took where the car we were in broke down on the side of the highway, and we had to walk a few miles to get to the nearest gas station to call for hope (this was before everyone had cell phones!).

I love books with road trips. I don’t read nearly enough of them. One book I really enjoyed was Welch’s first one, so I really need to get to Love and Luck (and I guess the third one is greece so yay!).

I love a good road trip book, and I am happy to see I read 8 of these. As much as I enjoy reading about it, I never want to be the driver. I can ride along though with enough comfort stops

    • Suzanne
      Suzanne says:

Yep, I don’t think I’d want to be the driver much either. I’d rather be in charge of the tunes and the snacks, haha.

I love a good road trip. Well, I guess it depends on who I’m traveling with. LOL It’s been a long time since I read anything by Kasie West, but Places We’ve Never Been sounds good.

I like your twist, Suzanne. The only one I have read is The Road Trip by Beth Ol’Leary, but One Throusand Miles is on my TBR shelf.
