Top Ten Tuesday – 10 Vampire Books You’ll Want to Sink Your Fangs Into

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.  Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!

This week’s TTT topic is a Halloween Freebie. Last year I shared some of my favorite witchy read, so this year I thought it would be fun to share some vampire reads, some I’ve really enjoyed over the years and others I’ve heard great things about and hope to read in the future.

  • MIDNIGHT SUN by Stephanie Meyer (I have to admit I had a love/hate relationship with the original Twilight series, but I still really want to see the story through Edward’s eyes as Meyer’s latest book promises.

I read City of Bones and the rest of that series. It was fascinating. I’m also a big fan of Jeaniene Frost’s Cat & Bones (Night Huntress series), Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J. R. Ward and the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian.

I’ve not read any of these, for whatever reason, vampires haven’t caught my attention as much as other paranormal creatures.

My love of vampires has definitely had a revival this year, so I look forward to trying some of the books on this list! I’m especially intrigued by The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires and A Discovery of Witches!

I remember when vampire books were all the rage. I wouldn’t say I read a ton, but I did read all Cassandra Clare’s books. I think it’s been quite a while since I read a book with a vampire in it.

I’m slowly working my way through the Cassandra Clare books now, mainly because I want to watch the TV show but don’t want to do that without having read the books first.

I need to read more vampire stuff. I like vamps (and werewolves too) and yet read so few books about either! Slayer sounds fabulous, and I’ve been seeing lots of good reviews for Southern Book Club Guide. A Discovery of Witches too, actually…

OMG I love Fred, the Vampire Accountant. It’s zany and he is such an accountant. (I have the degree and was a principal in a CPA firm so I can say that) But he’s also a real stand up guy and that’s awesome. You have to read at least one. Also the narrator, Kirby Heyborne, is excellent in this series so audio is a good option too.

LOL! I really want to read the Fred books. They sound like so much fun. I’ve worked for a CPA firm for 10 years so I know exactly what you mean, haha. 🙂

Vampires! I haven’t read a vampire story in ages, but Fred’s story demands to be read LOL!!

I’ve read all of the Twilight series, and the Stackhouse novels. They start off basically the same as True Blood, then veer off wildly. They are a great no think read. I enjoyed Interview with the Vampire, but only that book. I wasn’t a fan of the rest of the series.
