Top Ten Tuesday – Book Titles That Would Make Great Band Names

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.  Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!

This week’s TTT topic is Titles That Would Make Good Band Names.  I thought this was a fun topic and what surprised me as I was looking at the titles on my shelves was just how well so many titles would work as names for bands.  My only struggle was just picking 10!  Fantasy titles seem to work especially well, in my head anyway, lol.  I’m imagining the titles I’ve chosen as either head-banging 80’s hair bands or something a little more modern, like alternative bands.

My son looked at me strangely when I added Turtles All the Way Down to my list, but I say if Bowling For Soup, the Barenaked Ladies, and Toad the Wet Sprocket can be band names, why not Turtles All the Way Down?

I love that we both picked My Lady Jane! I was kind of thinking along the lines of Good Charlotte. Aurora Rising is a great one!

I felt the same way (and I loved all the bands you name dropped, while explaining why Turtles All the Down is a good band name). I actually short listed My Lady Jane and Aurora Rising (which made me think of Artemis Rising – a read band). Great list!

Undercover Bromance! That’d be a good one if I do say so myself, lol. 😉
Aurora Rising would also be super cool… In fact, I like most of this list for band names including the turtles. 🙂

Spinning Silver would be a great band name, especially for a Celtic band. I’ve come across some of the others on a couple of other TTT posts, so you’re not alone in thinking they’d make good band names! Renegades, Aurora Rising, and Thunderhead would all make very good band names. Great list!

Ha Beavis and Butthead- too funny! I still go around saying d@mn it Beavis at times and I have no idea why that has stuck with me after all these years!

Six of crows and Renegades would be amazing band names. I like My Lady Jane too. 🙂

Toad the Wet Sproket always killed me.

LOL! Glad I’m not the only one who knew who Beavis and Butthead even are. I was afraid I was totally dating myself with that one.

Ooh yes! This is such an awesome list, Suzanne 😍 I can definitely see all of these being band names and I’d definitely listen to Aurora Rising and Undercover Bromance (that one is defo my fave though)! So good. This was such a fun topic to post about 🙂

Oh, I’m with you, Turtles All the Way Down sounds like a perfect band name! It’s much better than Bowling for Soup, IMO. I don’t even know what music that band plays. And, oh I would like to hear what music A Darker Shade of music would be!

I could absolutely see all of these as band names! Turtles all the way down especially – that sort of quirky name that makes you want to check them out. Six of crows too! I can totally see it.
