Top Ten Tuesday – Ten Witchy Reads for You to Check Out This Halloween

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.  Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!

This week’s TTT topic is a Halloween Freebie so I’ve decided to share some of my favorite witchy reads.  Some are old favorites and some are brand-new favorites, but they all feature witchery in some form or other.

Other than HP, I haven’t read any of these. Seeing The Worst Witch did remind me of a witch book I loved as a child, though. I think it was called The Witch Family – and I checked it out from the library *so many times*. 🙂

Great list, Suzanne! These are some great witchy reads 🙂 I obviously love HP and I also really enjoyed A Discovery of Witches and These Witches Don’t Burn! I still need to read Sea Witch and I can’t wait because it sounds really good 😍Definitely curious about How to Hang A Witch!

Gosh there’s some stunning covers in there Suzanne! SEa Witch is one that really intrigues me, I’ve read quite a few mermaid type books over the years and most of them have been pretty ordinary to be honest so super excited to give that one a try. Great choices this week, going to check a few of these out on Goodreads!

Oh, yes! I love a good witchy read. I am a fan of the Brooklyn Brujas and loved The Wicked Deep. I liked both How to Hang a Witch books. The historical stuff was really interesting and the author’s family history was really cool.

I need to read more witchy stuff! I think the Harkness books sound good, and I heard the show was pretty good too- I wanted to watch it.

Thank you for an excellent list! I am looking forward to listening to Practical Magic on audiobook, hopefully before the end of the year. I watched the excellent TV series of A Discovery of Witches and The Worst Witch and am dithering whether it’s worth getting hold of the book A Discovery of Witches.

Great picks! I just recently started A Discovery of Witches AND The Wicked Deep–I am hoping to get fully into them soon, I’ve jut been getting distracted by unrelated things, you know what I mean? Ah.

Sea Witch is one I really want to read! It sounds amazing to me. I actually did reread Harry Potter in October, and recently finished Serpent & Dove which was also a witchy read for me :3

I hope you enjoy Sea Witch. I need to get my hands on the next book in the series because I’m very curious to see where the author takes the story next.
