Top Ten Tuesday – Books I’ve Read That Originally Caught My Attention Because of Their Unusual Titles

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.  Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!

This week’s TTT topic is Extraordinary Book Titles.  I wasn’t exactly sure what was meant by extraordinary so I decided to tweak the topic a little to cover books I’ve read whose unusual book were what originally caught my attention.  Some of them I’m not convinced I would have read if their titles hadn’t jumped out at me.  As soon as I saw these, I immediately wondered what in the world they could possibly be about.

Even though I DNFed the book, I love the title Dorothy Must Die – combined with the cover, that one really stood out to me!

I definitely noticed the title of Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda before I ever knew what it was about. I remember thinking it was such a “weird” title. Then I read the book and it became an instant favorite. So much love for that one!

You know I had to go to GR and find out what The Elegance of the Hedgehog was about. Great title!

What a lovely list, Suzanne:)). I have only read the Douglas Adams (of course!). But the Macenzie Lee book has also caught my eye – I love the premise!

Oh for sure the Best Exotic Marigold hotel would have got my attention too — and Dorothy must die. Yup, there was no way I could resist that title!
