Can’t Wait Wednesday – ALL THESE MONSTERS by Amy Tintera

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about.  It is a meme that I have  loved participating in for over a year now, but as Jill is no longer actively posting, from now on I’ll just be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings, which is a spinoff of the original WoW meme.

My selection for this week is ALL THESE MONSTERS by Amy Tintera.  This will be the first book in a new science-fiction duology, and even though it doesn’t come out for almost a year, it sounds so amazing that I just couldn’t wait to share it.

Seventeen-year-old Clara is ready to fight back. Fight back against her abusive father, fight back against the only life she’s ever known, and most of all, fight back against the scrabs, the earth-dwelling monsters that the world’s governments are trying to keep from rampaging cities and towns. So when an opportunity arises for Clara to join an international fight squad, she jumps at the chance.

When Clara starts training with her teammates, however, she learns what fighting scrabs really means: sore muscles, exhaustion, and worst of all, death. They’re  unpredictable, violent, and terrifying. But as Clara gains confidence in her battle skills, she starts to realize scrabs might not be the biggest threat. The true monsters are the ones you least expect.

Not normally a book that I would pick up on my own, but this sounds quite interesting. Hugs, RO

Now this sounds intriguing! An abusive father plus the monster thing. I think this sounds definitely promising.

I didn’t realize Tintera had a new book coming out. I really enjoyed her Ruined series and will probably give this one a look too.

I haven’t tried her yet either, although I do have her Ruined series on my Kindle. Maybe I’ll read that while I’m waiting for this one. 🙂
