Top Ten Tuesday – 10 Perfect Rainy Day Reads

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.  Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!

This week’s TTT topic is Rainy Day Reads.  This was a surprisingly hard topic for me, I guess mainly because as a book nerd, I think pretty much every book is great for a rainy day. So I got to thinking about it and decided to focus in on books I think would consume readers so thoroughly they would actually forget it was even raining outside.  For me, that list contains both some old favorites and some new ones that have sucked me in and kept me reading all day.  Both Kristin Hannah and Taylor Jenkins Reid feature prominently on my list as I’m currently addicted their their books.  Harry Potter of course made my list.  I picked one book for here but honestly any book would be perfect.

I so need to get to The Bride Test! I also had the same problem with my list — every book is a good rainy day book lol Also, my sister is currently raving about Daisy Jones — and so has pretty much everyone else who has reviewed it i think! definitely on on my list too.

Daisy Jones is fantastic. I’ve also been hearing great things about the audiobook version so I’m very tempted to re-read it that way.

LOL! I just finished The Bride Test over the weekend and really loved it. I’m still flailing too much to write my review!

I would totally agree with The Night Circus – definitely the kind of book you get lost in, imagining the different scenes.

Yes! I remember that was a book that I just couldn’t put down once I started it. I still need to do a re-read of it some day.

Well, you have two books that are guaranteed to make tears predicate from me – Me Before You and The Nightingale. So emotional.

The Bride Test is definitely on the list of books I have to read. I also need to read The Great Alone. I got it when it was on sale at some point, which means I have no excuse except making time to read it!

I think every book is great for every day 😛 so I like your take on this. The Night Circus is one of those books I’ve said for years I would read, and I’ve finally stopped saying it lol, but I do hope to find the time for it eventually!

I chose horror/thriller/dark books. Like right now, it’s raining and dark outside. I’m watching Haunting of Hill House while I blog/blog hop. I always enjoy dark stuff when it’s dark outside. Adds to the creep factor to me.

I’ve read a few of these books, Hunger Games and Harry Potter of course. Night Circus was okay, and I can’t wait to read Daisy Jones and the Six.

This post just reminds me of how much more rain we desperately need in Australia. I love cold, cosy weekends curled up with a great read. I love to read about strong girls changing the world and landscape in which we live, feel great romances and people travelling through warm countries and cool water. I’m very much a mood reader so I’ll read anything as well. The Night Circus is one that was only just recommended to me again last night and need to pluck it off my shelves.

I can’t wait for my hold for The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo to become available at my local library, I’ve heard so many good things! And Harry Potter is such a good rainy day choice!

Oh, the Great Alone broke my heart. I do not think I’ll survive another her story…. Reading it you would be actually happy it is just raining outside and not snowing))
