Weekly Recap #96: Week of 3/17 – 3/23

It’s time for another weekly recap post of all things happening on and off the blog. This week I’ll be linking to the Sunday Post, which is hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and to Stacking the Shelves, which is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.

My crazy schedule caught up with me this week and after about Wednesday, I decided I needed to take a little break and recharge.  My son was also feeling down because after all of his hard work training for so many months, he still didn’t make the soccer team.  I decided we both needed a little pick-me-up so for the past two nights we have vegged out together, watching movies, ordering pizza, and indulging in ice cream.  Marvel movies were on the agenda, as well as Into the Spiderverse (which was awesome, by the way!).  We’re both feeling much better now, but needless to say, I have some catching up to do on the blog and especially with writing reviews because I didn’t write a single one all week.  Oops, lol.

On the reading front, I’m about to dive into Descendant of the Crane. It’s the last fantasy ARC I have on my schedule for a while so if it doesn’t bust me out of my YA fantasy rut, at least I have plenty of other genres coming up to give me a break from it.  The weather has been gorgeous here this weekend so I’m really hoping to be able to start reading this one outside.  I’m also working on my backlist reads with an audiobook of Crazy Rich Asians that I’m really enjoying so far.

Oh, and before I forget, in blog news, today is actually my blogoversary!  The Bookish Libra has officially been up and running for 3 years now. I’ll be starting a giveaway later today to celebrate, so be sure to check back for that.  Thanks so much to all of you who have supported me these past 3 years.  It’s the friends I’ve made, just as much as my love of books, that keep me blogging and I really appreciate all of you.

Okay that’s it for now.  Have a great week, everyone!

Your break was well-deserved! And Marvel movies sound like a wonderful way to spend it!

Happy blogoversary!! It’s funny that we started blogging only a month apart!

Happy blogoversary Suzanne! But I am so sad your son did not make it on the team. I know he worked hard so it must really feel unfair for him. And after all that you’ve said about being overworked this month it’s a good thing you took a break. Happy Sunday!

Vegging out together and movies sounds like the perfect pick me up. Happy blogoversary! Enjoy the books and the nice weather.

Happy Blogoversary! And go you for having the good sense to unplug and take some ‘you’ time with your son:). I also lay on the settee and did nothing much for a couple of days – and it made a huge impact on my creativity. I clearly need to do nothing much more often! Descendant of the Crane is a stunning cover – just… stunning:)). Have a good week, Suzanne:)

Sounds like a great time for you and your son. Everyone needs to recharge sometimes. I am anxious to hear your thoughts on Wicked Saints. I’ve heard mixed things so far. Hope you have a wonderful week!

I’ve seen some mixed reviews for Wicked Saints too. I enjoyed it overall, although I thought the second half was much better than the first.

I’m sorry to hear your son didn’t make the team. My daughter didn’t make the soccer team in 8th grade and it CRUSHED her. I was so mad and felt bad for her at the same time! I mean I know it’s competitive and I respect that, but at the same time they’re in 8th grade? They should still be able to learn and benefit from team building and confidence building- or at least that was my position. Oh well. I know life’s tough and you have to adapt but it bothered me almost as much as it bothered her I think!

Anyway happy blogoversary to you and have a super week. 🙂

That pretty well sums up how I felt about my son not making the team. Based on the kids that did make the team, I think they’re almost taking a middle school sport way too seriously.

((HUGS)) to your son. That’s tough to put in so much time and not make the team. The new Tucker book looks good. Atria always rejects me, so I don’t even try anymore. Hope all your new books are fantastic.

It’s so unpredictable who approves and rejects me lately. I think Disney is the only one I’ve completely given up on requesting.

Happy Blogoversary! I’m sorry your son didn’t make the team, but it sounds like you two had some nice days to just relax and have fun. I love that. And I LOVE Into the Spiderverse, so I’m glad you enjoyed it too.
