Top Ten Tuesday, the Valentine’s Edition: My Top 10 Favorite Couples in Books

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.  Top Ten Tuesday has been one of my favorite memes ever since I started blogging, so huge thanks to Jana for taking over the hosting duties!

This week’s TTT topic is Favorite Couples in Books.  This is of course a perfect topic since Valentine’s Day is this week.  I’m not much on the actual holiday myself, but I do like the opportunity to spotlight some of my favorite couples.  Their chemistry was just so off the charts that they won me over in spite of my usual aversion to reading anything romantic.  Some of them are just really sweet together, while others I find fabulous because of their sassy and witty banter, and a couple of the others are just flat out hot together.  One couple, Darcy and Elizabeth, from Pride and Prejudice, is the first couple I ever actively rooted for when I read the book in high school, but the rest are all more recent favorites.

Darcy and Elizabeth are definitely a classic couple. Even though JK Rowling says she should have paired Harry and Hermione up in the end, I still saw them as really good friends, and loved that she and Ron had a relationship instead. Overall in any book, I really enjoy the idea of couples having a HEA. Great topic! Hugs…RO

Stella & Michael FTW! Feyre & Rhysand were too hot to handle, and you know, going to war together is one way to prove your love. Simon & Blue were adorable together, and I loved them even more with the peeks we got in the second book.

Yes to Ygritte and Jon snow- a big thumbs up for those two. 🙂 And I like Elizabeth/ Darcy too even though I’ve only seen movie versions of the story!

Thomas and Audrey Rose! I think I’d ship Thomas with anyone just for more page time to be honest. They both compliment each other so nicely and neither suffocates the other. The couple I ship the hardest would be Carol and Daryl from The Walking Dead and I’m so tired Suzanne, when are they going to make it happen for me!

Awww, I hope you get your Carol and Daryl pairing soon. My best friend watches that show and she says the same thing about being tired of waiting for it to happen.
