Weekly Recap #88: Week of 1/20 – 1/26

It’s time for another weekly recap post of all things happening on and off the blog. This week I’ll be linking to the Sunday Post, which is hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and to Stacking the Shelves, which is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.

It’s one of those weeks where either nothing important happened or else I’ve forgotten everything that did happen because I can’t think of anything to write.  Work, school, soccer, repeat is yet again all that comes to mind.

Last week I managed to get all of my posts for the week written on Saturday and Sunday.  I really loved having the extra time during the week to read and blog, so I’ll be aiming for the same productivity this weekend.   Since I didn’t have to write any posts during the week, I was able to finish reading my last January ARC, two of my 2/5 ARCs, and start a third 2/5 ARC.  I have really got to get better about not requesting too many ARCs with the same publication dates because I still have another seven that I need to try to get through by 2/12.   Once I get through those, thankfully my publication dates spread out a bit and I’ll be able to get back to my backlist reading.

What else?  Oh, I did manage to squeeze in most of Grace and Frankie season 5. I have a couple of episodes left but should knock that out today or tomorrow.  That show just keeps getting funnier and funnier, and I’m so excited to hear that it has already been renewed for season 6!

Short, sweet, and pretty boring, but that’s all I’ve got right now

Have a great week, everyone!

Glad you have some time to get to them. I got some last minute approvals that I wasn’t expecting, which has created my predicament, lol.

Sadly, I ended up DNFing it last night. What I had turned out to be a preview rather than the whole book and it was full of distracting footnotes, so I gave up on it.

It’s coming up to the end of January – if you can’t have a week which slides by in a haze of nonentity in the depths of winter, I don’t know when you can. I notice you’ve got The Ruin of Kings – I ended up DNF’ing it as the review copy was horribly formatted and the narrative timeline was jumping allll over the place. It’s a shame as I think under all the textual mayhem was a well written story… Have a peaceful, happy week, Suzanne:)

I think I might be DNFing it as well, Sarah. The footnotes are driving me crazy and I’m not crazy about the way the story is being told either.

Bwahahaha I don’t know if I can finish the book in one day, depends on the book! Now I am trying to schedule all my Romance and Love Celebration posts for February so I hope I’ll get just to enjoy, comment back and blog hop. Happy Sunday Suzanne!

I can totally relate, and can’t remember most of what is going on these days, particularly since being sick. Yay to Grace and Frankie being renewed for Season 6! I just want to hang out with each one of them for a day of laughter and fun! I love, love, love that show and have just a few more to catch up on for this season. Happy national Chocolate Cake Day! I write all my posts during the week, and just read, blog hop, and write reviews during the week. It works for the most part. I feel you with the ARCs. Just when I thought I wasn’t getting them, a bunch of approvals came through, but it’s all good.

Yep, that’s exactly what happened to me. I requested several that I was pretty sure I wouldn’t get anyway and then was shocked to actually get them all. Oops, lol.

It is nice getting posts ready and scheduled ahead of time. I find that is the only way I can get anything posted during the workweek, if I schedule them on my weekends off.
Have a great reading week. Nice covers on the upcoming review books.

I can’t wait to read Courting Darkness. I hope you are enjoying it. I have to get my butt in gear and get my posts up for the week. I didn’t even get a chance to write any yet. I was working on some other things today. Have a great week.

I didn’t do a whole lot this weekend, which was nice, but I’m also behind on blogging. LOL I need to try and get the week’s posts (for the most part) written/scheduled tomorrow or Tuesday. At least it’ll be finished early in the week, right? Good job with getting ahead though!

Grace and Frankie is absolutely hilarious. Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin definitely still have it when it comes to comedy gold. 🙂

It’s so hard not to request great looking books you want to read. I read Sisters of the Fire and really enjoyed it. I hope you do too. I seem to have a whole bunch more romance than usual because of Valentine’s Day maybe? They are all authors I read. Wishing you a productive week with great books.
