Can’t Wait Wednesday – Spotlight on THE RAGING ONES by Krista & Becca Ritchie
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about. It is a meme that I have loved participating in for over a year now, but as Jill is no longer actively posting, from now on I’ll just be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa, which is a spinoff of the original WoW meme.

My selection for this week is THE RAGING ONES by Krista and Becca Ritchie. I’m always on the lookout for new science fiction series and this one recently caught my eye, especially the idea that everyone knows the exact day they will die and that the three characters in this book somehow manage to dodge their deathdays. I was recently approved for an ARC of this book and am quite excited to start it.
THE RAGING ONES by Krista & Becca Ritchie
Publication Date: August 14, 2018
From Goodreads:
In a freezing world, where everyone knows the day they will die, three teens break all odds.
Franny Bluecastle, a tough city teen, dreams of dying in opulence, to see wealth she’s never known. Like the entire world, she believes it’s impossible to dodge a deathday.
Until the day she does.
Court Icecastle knows wealth. He also knows pain. Spending five years in Vorkter Prison, a fortress of ice and suffering, he dreams of life beyond the people that haunt him and the world that imprisoned him.
Mykal Kickfall fights for those he loves. The rugged Hinterlander shares a frustrating yet unbreakable connection with Court—which only grows more lawless and chaotic as their senses and emotions connect with Franny.
With the threat of people learning they’ve dodged their deathdays, they must flee their planet to survive. But to do so, all three will have to hide their shared bond as they vie for a highly sought after spot in the newest mission to space. Against thousands of people far smarter, who’ll live longer, and never fear death the way that they do.

Wow. Wooow, What a compelling threesome these are — and premise!
Right?
I love a great sci-fi and it has been a while since I have picked one up. I am really intrigued by the concept. Knowing how you will die is such powerful information that makes for an interesting plot. Thanks for sharing this one. 🙂
You’re welcome 🙂
I have this one on my tbr! It’s been a long time since I’ve read something by them and look forward to doing so again. Can’t wait to hear what you think on it!
Thanks, I’m hoping to start it soon!
Ooh fascinating. I am curious about this one, and I’ll be excited to see what you think!!

Happy Wednesday!!!
You’re welcome!
This sounds really good. I think it already has some great reviews, which makes me want to read it even more😊 Great choice!
Thanks!
Sounds really good! Great pick.
Thanks!
Ooooooh this story sounds quite intense! Flee their PLANET?! That sounds super fun!
I thought so too!
The premise is really interesting, I’m intrigued to know how they avoided the deathday!
Right? Same here!
Yay! So excited to see this one highlighted! I’ve been a fan of Krista and Becca Ritchie’s for year and their Addicted/Calloway series is among my favorite of all time. I’m so excited to see how they handle sci-fi and I plan to start this one in the next couple weeks.
Oh, good to know! If I like this, I’ll have to check out their other series 🙂
I don’t normally read a lot of SFF, but I am curious to see what the Ritchie’s do in this genre.
I hope it’s as good as it sounds.
That is a unique premise. I don’t think I’d want to know my deathday, although the preventing it with magic part maybe… ha ha!
I don’t think I’d want to know either, although the idea of knowing it and then somehow managing to escape it intrigues me.
I hope you like it! I also got an ARC (from NG) and already enjoyed it 🙂
I’m so glad to hear that!
This does sound really good! I will have to look for this one and give it a try myself!
I hope you enjoy it!
Ooo I got an e-ARC of this, can’t wait to read!
Same!
